Sick as a........ Hi Stob
Glad you ate and enjoyed life before the England match, because it was enough to make you sick as a chip, well now McClaren gone and joy of joys Croatia again in the world cup qualifiers ah well life goes on
From How Slow can you go? 'Rob was too good at this and at one point sacrificed a mother and young child so he could stay dry'.. ....er, what exactly was his preferred method? The vision is nightmarish!
'We put up with it until during a particularly energetic clearing of his nose a massive blob flew over my head and landed in front of me. We moved pretty hastily then, even though it may have looked rude'..... Are you certain it was sn-t or was it his whole head. Lol. ! Tell you what - your cosy nights indoors sound just the ticket to me! Darlington is wet and cold and I think it's lovely to be inside watching the soft white snow falling. your snow I mean, as Darlo hasn't got snow just yet, just rain.....byeeeee. xxx
A first Iy was lovely to read your latest blog and no doubt by now you will have explored and discovered whether you like it a lot or a little. After reading this blog i looked for the 'Next jounal' button and couldn't find it. So i went back to inbox feeling rather perplexed as to why i couldn't access the next one the usual way. Imagine my surprise when i realised there was only ONE! One blog, oh dear you have never just sent one. Does this mean you are organized and on top of things.
Have fun

unfazed When all is uncertain and going a bit (!) wrong it comes across on the blogs that you cope admirably. I wonder what the reality is??
Keep it up, you are managing so well. I am really proud of you both.
Lots of love

lush but not lovely Hi
The town sounds a bit run down with holes in the road so it is all the more surprising to see there was a 'Lush' shop !

Skiving? What Me?!! What a cheek, skiving indeed, I was having an informal chat about job opportunities and developments in the area with England Squash, would I skive and anyway it was my birthday so a slightly longer lunch is always allowed.
It was good to hear from you though

Your Chernobyl photos came in useful with U6. Hi Robert. I just used your Chernobyl blog photos (you did quite a few on that blog) with my Physics U6. They were quite amazed that you got so close. You may remember the photo on page 117 of the text book shows a helicopter dropping sand, boron and lead on the broken reactor and you photo showed the same profile and same tower next to it. It then led to a discussion on the the risk you took - I think they expect you to come back with two heads!
Dad xx
freebies to the needy Your story about trying to find a needy person to give your uneaten food to reminds me of Dad and I in London last week. We passed on our underground tickets to 2 random people queing up to buy theirs as we were about to leave and no longer had need of them. Great minds and all that..

hat trick Glad to see you've now done the 'hat trick' - Halifax, Hull and now Hell!
Love dad but written by mum as his computer wouldn't accept the comment.
footie The football match sounds like a really interesting experience. It's not everybody that can say they've been to a Turkish match in Turkey.

funny wee wee How far was Plovdiv from Istanbul? If you get a chance, do let me know-thanks. I believe it took around 7 or 8 hours by the 'crazycoach?'
Know what you mean about the 'hole-in the-ground' toilet! Some really old and/or poor places in Iran have them. Most other places have what they refer to as the Western toilet!!! Some places have both, for the traveller's CONVENIENCE. ahem. er, sorry!xxx
The bazaar(sp?) photos Hi Stob. Thanks or the pics. They took me back in time to 1979 and my first visit to a bazaar-to see Hamid's dad in his work office in one of the the bazaars in Tehran. I remember the many little 'streets' and all manner of things hanging above my head! The lovely lights and the 'busy-ness'. Take care..xxxx
Get their name! Hi Stob..thanks for blogs.I have particularly enjoyed the entries from Turkey. When you meet an Iranian, get their name/city of origin and mention Hamid-you never know, could be a relative! Seriously. I have sent you H's details on your private line! xx
No Change Then Hi Stob
I see somethings have not changed with you from week one up to now, your ability to ,not be able to read maps and always go in the wrong direction
Cheers
Brian
Learning Process Hi You Two

begining to wonder about the obsession with turkish delight. Hmm mosque sounded quite interesting, least its differnt from looking round catherdrals, or ruins :P. xx
Hi, Chisinau is just cheap. Food is very cheap, a meal with 2 starters, 2 mains and a bottle of wine is about fifteen GBP in a touristy place but much much much less in little cafes etc. Self catering is fantastically cheap. Public transport is very little but the taxis will cost a bit more if you don't speak Romanian. We stayed at the central youth hostel which was 5 euro each a night, however the hostel was on the small side and we were given little more than a bed. Hotel Tourist which is very nearby had double rooms for sixteen GBP but were quite rude when we called in to ask. Maybe book over the internet? Overall its a fantastic city, the people are wonderful and the wine is dirt cheap. The only epensive thing was a tour of Milesti Mici we took which was well worth the money. Hope this helps. Stob
Hi guys, we are Rob and Steph and this is our journal of our travels around the Baltics and Eastern Europe. We intend to finish sometime around Christmas and fly back to the UK from somewhere around Hungary.
