New York is an experience - so alive and full of energy!! There is so much to do here that we can't possibly see everything.! We have been to the statue of liberty, empire state building, time square, broadway (and saw phantom of the opera - spectacular), world trade centre site, walked over the brooklyn bridge, and seen all of the little areas like soho and greenwich. You could spend weeks here and still have heaps to do each day. During the week we crossed the border to Canada and went to niagra falls. This was breathtaking. We got absolutely soaked from our ride on the maid of the mist boat which takes you right up to the falls. It is like it is raining there even when you go to the lookout points on land. ... read more

Washington was beautiful - alot of money has been spent here. Everything is grand and spectacular. We visited heaps of places here - all under tight security - White House, US Capitol, Lincoln Memorial, FDR Memorial, Arlington National Cemetary , a million museums, Jefferson Memorial, and the list goes on... We even went to the pool of reflection near the Washington Monument and acted out the scene from Forrest Gump - entertaining. ... read more

Nashville was awesome!!! If only we could have stayed longer.... The highlight here was the honky tonks downtown. All were filled with live bands - it was excellent. We saw the Ryman Auditorium, the Parthenon, Country Music Hall of Fame and Music Row - we kept our eyes peeled for country music stars but were not lucky. Can't wait to come back here one day! ... read more

Today we drove and drove and drove all the way to Nashville. It was pretty easy really, it was a 4 hour trip but the weird thing was that most of the country was sparsely populated for the whole trip. Before we arrived at Nashville we made a stop at the Jack Daniels Distillery - Paul was in heaven until he realised we were in a dry county and could not sample any of the spirit. ... read more

Well, Memphis.......................... We went to Graceland and saw how Elvis Presley lived, saw some memorabilia and all of his awards. Luckily there were no impresonators as we had had enough of them in Las Vegas. Went to the zoo and saw some animals - no sausage dogs though. Ran into some aussies at the bar - good to hear a familiar accent that we can understand. A rarity around here. ... read more

What a week we had in Las Vegas, it was all we imagined it to be - bright lights and expensive. After testing out all of the Casinos we decided that ours - Bellagio - was the best, pricey though. The Freemont Experience at Freemont Street was something else, would definately go back for the live bands and atmosphere, the lights show was special too. Lost some money, were expecting that though. Also went to the Stratosphere where there were some freaky rides right at the very top. We were also lucky enough to be at Las Vegas for the opening of Steve Wynn's Casino. Had a beer with him, ate some kangaroo and were on our way. Ha Ha. During our stay we went to Grand Canyon which was breathtaking - the pictures do not ... read more

The last couple of days we have seen a whole heap of LA. We went on a tour on Thursday of LA and visited Beverly Hills, Farmers Market, Hollywood (with the stars on the path and the footprints e.t.c) we have even been to Venice Beach - where it rained for the half hour that we were there! On Thursday night we went to a Medieval Times Dinner which was awesome!! We cheered on our knight as he fought the others in sword fights and jousting and the best part was we got to eat our dinner with our fingers - as they had no cutlery back then! Yesterday we hired a car and tried our luck on the LA freeways...Very scary....But worth it to get to the Alan Jackson and Sara Evans Concert. HA HA. ... read more

After undergoing a secondary search (body search and check for explosives) we left San Francisco Airport and headed to LA. What a difference it is here - we were told that there are 23 million people in LA - more than in all of Australia. We have been to both disneyland and universal studios and both were fantastic. The rides were incredible with each being individually themed and having little shows at the beginning and during the rides. We saw Mickey (which made Staceys day) and even went on the 'Small world after all' ride - which nearly drove us nuts.......... read more

After arriving in San Francisco, we were shuttled to our hotel room and discovered two things - 1. That USA drivers are absolutely nuts and 2. that our hotel was in a dodgy area (lots of homeless and drug dealers). We still had a great time and saw the golden gate bridge, alcatraz, went for a walk to union square and caught the cable cars and saw how beautiful the city could be on our City Tour. ... read more
