up and down the country As usual, it was fun to read about all your activities in Ecuador. I hope you have a safe trip and a wonderful visit with your dad.
Love the Pottery Jill, We drove into Chihuahua, MX to the pottery village of Mata Ortiz a few weeks ago and learned a lot about pottery - have a new respect for the artists; what a beautiful art-form it is.
Thanks for the great update Not that everything you reported so great, the part about your ailing foot I am thinking of, but I am so glad to hear you are recovering and doing interesting things in the process, besides multiple episodes of Grey's. The pottery making session sounds and looks wonderful! You must shock the folks up north with the volcanic eruption shots, but as you say, all is a part of facing nature directly and intimately. As always, will be thinking of you during the festive season and wish you peace, joy and good health. ABRAZOTES!
tale of 2 turkeys Dear Jill, wishing you a wonderful holiday season! I'm so glad your foot is getting better. Loved as always hearing about your adventures.

I first came to Ecuador in the late 1980's to teach English in Quito. I fell in love with this country, the natural beauty, the warmth and generosity of the people. I went on to work in international education on nearly every continent, but Ecuador kept calling me back. This Chicago girl has a "latina soul"! I've now been back in Ecuador, living here as a permanent resident since 2006. I have done all different kinds of work, from private teaching to teacher training to working with American volunteers as a driver/interpreter to filling in as a substitute hotel manager.
