Alpaca on top of the world

This was an amazing place I have fallen in love with. I went on a two day trip to a small village of Moche which is up on the altiplano, its quite close to the volcano ubinas which is currently erupting. I went for a look and ended up walking along the Lagoon Salinas and sitting amongst the Alpacas and Llamas. It felt like I was sitting on top of the world with nothing to bother my ears except the quiet munching of the animals.

The animals are suprisingly clean considering they have a massive plain on which to go to the loo. They always go in exactly the same spot. I read that they do this because it is harder for bugs and infections to be transferred between the animals in the herd. This is near the lake Salinas.

This was on a trip down the south west slope of Misti, a place called chiguata and down into the district of Jesus. I went with www.peruadventurestours.com. the guide Saul is really funny and I´m going with them sandboarding in nasca and on a 5 day expedition into the Amozon (on bikes) which i´m really excited about, Hes also helping me in the colca canyon as I want to go and stay in one of the small villages for a week in july at the bottom of the canyon and learn how to make rope out of the cactus Mague. I will be staying with a family and they are also going to teach me how to fish Salmon out of the river and maybe even a few words in Quechia!
