Hi Everyone. I am going to apologise in advance for the vagueness of this blog. I usually write bits as we go along but at one stage we had no electricity or internet reception so I'm just getting around to it all now and dates are starting to get muddled. On our 2nd last day in Tampa, Russ and I spent the day at Busch Gardens, a theme park with rollercoasters galore. I've attached a pic of 'Sheikra', a 3 minute thrill ride with a 90 degree drop straight down. That's right, straight down. The worst bit of the ride is when they dangle you over the edge for a bit so you're looking at the drop but the drop itself isn't too bad. We actually went to the park twice but the wait time for ... read more

Well, we are back on the road again and I suppose it's time for a 'proper' travel blog, one which contains words and not just photos to keep you all amused :) The morning of the 14th February found Russ and I back on the road again to Tampa, Florida. It felt good to be on the interstate and bound for somewhere new but at the same time sad to be leaving our home of 3 months, Orlando. Orlando gave us Disney and friends but we must look onwards and to the future in this adventure of ours. The weather was absolutely beautiful, the perfect day to be doing anything but moving but at the same time, what a blessing to have good driving conditions. The closer we got to Tampa the 'beachier' it began to ... read more

Greetings family and friends. Only 5 days to go until I finish up my 2 month stint at Disney and we are back on the road bound for the land of better blogs :) I finish up at Disney on the 11th and then Russ and I will be heading south to check out Tampa, Miami, the Everglades and Key West before we make our way up the east coast of the US and another job. I've attached some final pics of Disney taken last week for you to enjoy.... read more

Happy New Year Everyone!!! Hope your New Year was more eventful then ours which consisted of us working until 2.45am New Years Day. Yes you read right, Russ and I were both working at the strike of midnight which was so not what we had planned but you get that sometimes in life. I’ve been saying this a lot lately but we haven’t been up to much since our last entry. I was sick for about a week or so over Christmas and I lost my voice which is not ideal when having to make calls home on Christmas Day. Jo actually thought I was one of Pat’s relatives calling and in turn was less then enthusiastic when I wished her a Merry Christmas :) Ahh, I was feeling the love. Russ worked 60+ hours the ... read more

Well, what an interesting couple of weeks it has been. A shuttle launch and jobs at Disney World. I can definitely say that I wouldn't have had these experiences had we still been in Australia. We'll start with the Shuttle Launch - what an amazing experience. I'd even go out on a limb and say it was the most exciting thing we have done since being in the States. Russ and I drove to Cocoa Beach to view the shuttle launch on the 7th which was the first attempt at launch. We found a great site where about 10 other groups were gathering and one car was broadcasting the happenings at Mission Control. After much anticipation the launch was deemed a no-go due to bad weather. Dissapointed, we walked back to the car but the night ... read more

Well, I'm glad to say that Russ and I are back on the road again. Woohoo! We spent 2 great weeks in Ohio, the time to rest and catch up on things as well as brain storm where our next pit stop would be was definitely appreciated. Our vehicle was returned to us on the 28th November so we went out that night with Jose's friends to celebrate which put our departure day back to the 30th after having too big a night. I think it was just part of Jose's plot to get us to stay a bit longer :) On Thursday we went back to the transmission place and had them check that the transmission wasn't leaking fluid and to disconnect our drive shaft and with an Adios Amigos we farewelled Jose' to head ... read more

Hi Everyone. I still haven't got much to tell since our last entry as we are still without a car so this entry is mainly going to be photographs. I rang the Transmission shop today and the transmission still hasn't come in. Apparently after we paid Frank (at the shop) he had to order the transmission, the place he ordered it from then had to get it out of the car and then it had to be sent to us here in Ohio. Frank was expecting the transmission to come in today but the Thanksgiving holiday has put everything behind so we are expecting it in on Monday. We have our fingers crossed that it will actually be Ok to use as we won't know until Frank pulls it apart. The weather cleared up a few ... read more

Time for another entry. Yay I hear you all say! :) Russ and I are now in Canton, Ohio. We've been here for about a week since leaving Detroit. Not much to say about Detroit and didn't think too much of it. We crashed the night behind a BP with all these other trucks and Russ said there was syringes lying on the ground. Weather was miserable too so it made the city seem alot more bleaker then usual. I must say, they definitely live up to their reputation of being the Motor City of the nation, lots of car factories. Apparently one of the best things to do when you're in Detroit is go to Canada!!! :) We saw the bridge and the tunnel to Canada and whilst tempted to cross it we will be ... read more

I just had to do a blog entry on this as I'm just so excited. Whilst riding the train in Chicago we passed billboards advertising the (get this Mum, I know you'll love it as much as me) one and only 93.9 WLIT (radio station). So what, I hear you say. Well, this isn't any ordinary radio station, this one plays non stop Christmas music!!!! And it gets even better, now that we've moved onto Ohio I can listen to it online much to Russell's dismay. Oh, what a great day it is :) Will write an actual entry in the next couple of days. Today is washing day, not so exciting.... read more

Today Russ and I caught the Metra train into Chicago to take on the city. First stop, Sears Tower Skydeck which we found with no trouble. We paid our $22 and made our way to the 103rd floor to take in the sights of the city. The windows could have been a bit cleaner but it was pretty cool to get an overview of the Windy City. I had been determined to see 'The Bean' whilst here so we blindly walked the streets trying to find it as I hadn't packed a map. After walking for what seemed like an eternity we found the Navy Pier so we checked that out. Russ had some 'Future Maccas' as he has a never ending stomach and then we set out on our jouney again to find The Bean. ... read more
