We Come In Peace
Gone Travelling.........
Travel Blog Posts
Hello!!! What is this I hear you all ask???? 2 Blogs in the same day???? Well yes. We've decided to treat you all with two blogs. It's up to you how you want to read them. If you want to read the first one and then give yourself a few days break before the next one. Or whether you'd just like to gorge yourselves on Jav & Sian action. We decided to get it all done like this because.... (a) We wanted to get up to date with the blogs and get the NZ ones done before we fly off to Australia. (b) Things are abit quiet and we've got nothing else to do with our time!! Christchurch We set sail on our ferry very early in the morning from Wellington aboard the 'Interislander'. We had ... read more
Hi. I'm Jav. I have just finished reading the 'Are You Dave Gorman?' Book by Dave Gorman and Danny Wallace. You may wonder why i'm telling you this. But the very funny book was written by two people. Like our blog. So we shall now be using their way of writing. I am in BOLD!!! Which means I, Sian am in not BOLD!!! So there should be no more confusion of as to who is writing! Just means more work for us. Now we have that out of the way, we can get onto our last blogs of New Zealand!! Goodbye Auckland On Friday 25 July, I went to work @ Air New Zealand for my very last day, because at 4.30pm that afternoon i was to return to the traveller/bum lifestyle and guess what, i ... read more
Kia Ora Again! Well hello everybody. It's been awhile since the last blog. You can always tell when it's been long because you get emails from everybody asking where the blog is!! It just seems so weird. The last blog never feels like it was 41 days ago!! As much as me and Sian are looking forward to leaving Auckland and the worst weather I have ever experienced in my life and the worst biscuits in the World, it has gone very, very quickly. The Los Angeles blog was a long one. It was so much of a long one the Nas Man even had a nap during it. There was alot going on in those 9 days and alot of writing to be done. This one, although im sure there'll be plenty of words, there's ... read more
Auckland Kia Ora!!!!! Well hello there!! It's been a long long time. What have you all been doing?? There hasn't been any photos of me or Sian for over a month. What have you all been doing to get your Jav & Sian fix? You must of all of been pining over old photo's. Maybe with a glass of wine. Listening to a Luther Vandross CD maybe? Well don't worry, there's loads of photo's on here. This one is probably going to be a long one (I hear you all groaning from here). Also, a blog first for me and Sian theres a video on this one. And may I say, it's brilliant. And I took it. So that makes me brilliant. By the way, i'm on my own today doing the blog. For those ... read more
Backpackers Paradise & Inglewood Our flight from Las Vegas was booked for what i thought (Sian) was 9.30am but when i re-checked the flight details i realised i actually booked the flights for 9.30pm, Jav was pretty ok with me considering we had to wait all day. Anywho, we booked that nights bed so we had somewhere to rest without a hassle. We got to LAX, got our bags (second time there and as we are now pros at airports, we were out pretty darn quick!) and headed for the shuttle which, was provided free from our 'Backpackers Paradise' Hostel. 15 minutes later, the shuttle arrived. Now let me paint you a little picture, We have Jav and I, Me, pasty white skin, size 12 and looking pretty rough, Jav, scruffy, dirty and male. This ... read more
Las Vegas So we made it to the airport at the un-godly hour of 4:30am. Checked in and had another un-memorable flight. Think we're both getting pretty pee'd off with flying these days but I suppose you can't complain. Didn't help that we had to change at San Francisco and had a 3 hour wait for the flight to Vegas. (May I just say, as we're writing this, there is a bloke in the internet cafe playing guitar, stamping his feet for his drum and singing at the top of his voice, and it's pretty distracting, so if anything doesn't make sense, i'm sure you can understand why) Had another flight to Vegas and arrived into a very hot Las Vegas. Finally!! Got our shuttle to the Stratosphere Hotel at the North end of the ... read more
Seattle So we arrived into Downtown Seattle and set forth on the journey to find somewhere to live for the next 6 days. The first hote we tried was well out of our league, a real posh boutique little number, he sent us packing, cheapest rate was $199.00 a night, no thank you very much!! On our way again with our backpacks, 20 hours bus journey on us and our new jansport backpack, so technically Jav was carrying 2 backpacks!! We went to another two hotels which were still to expensive. When we thought all was lost, there it was glistening in the sun was the beautiful Days Inn (Although we had a bad experience at our first Days Inn, they were the cheapest we could find, without stopping in the whore house across the ... read more
San Francisco Well we arrived into mighty San Francisco and I think I loved it the minute I saw it from when we were crossing over the bridge from Oakland. We got into the Greyhound station and searched for a motel. I rang on the courtesy phone for the 'Ram Inn'. I said "Hello have you got any rooms available tonight?" the guy on the other end was a maniac. "WHAT???" I tried to talk a little slower as I know not everybody can understand me the first time I speak to them....or the other thousands of times I speak to them and a little louder (that always works). " DO. YOU. HAVE. ANY. ROOMS. TONIGHT??" "WHAT??? Just words are coming out of your mouth. What are you saying?" I was getting a little agitated ... read more
Santa Barbara So where did we leave you? I believe we were off to get our drink on for the company of Mr. Vedder. Whilst we were in the internet cafe writing our last blog, we left poor Hazel and George sitting outside resting up. For those of you who don't know who Hazel and George are, they are Tony's (as in last blog entry) parents! They very kindly drove us to Santa Barbara and kept us company for a couple of days. We went for something to eat in a place called 'Rubys Cafe', however, we then had to leave before ordering because Hazel had this 'Rubys Cafe' mixed up with 'Rubys Diner' which, served the Turkey Pot Pie!! Which she had been piping on about all day. So we headed over to the 'Rubys ... read more
