Darjeeling! Small part of India somewhere between Bhutan&Nepal...backed by marvellous Himalayan panorama, tea plantations and hill station. Everything was different here...no more cows on the streets, cooler climate and much more tibetians. After hot&sultry Varanasi this was a huge climate change for us. Hello to all of YOU!!! We heard so much about holy city of Varanasi...that we really had big expectations - dirty river, crowds of people taking baths at numerous ghats, smoke, babas, pujas, ... Namaste :) Interesting days in Rajasthan went by way too fast so we had to pack our »easy« backpacks and moved again. Again a lot of interesting places and people...and after every corner a new thing to discover :) In 16,4 million Mumbai/Bombay we visited the most gothic building in the city! Namaste again! After a little bit more relaxing days at the beaches in Kerala and Goa we continued to a vibrant desert of Rajasthan. The Land of the Kings is without a doubt my favourite one in India. This is a place where tradition and history blend with friendly people and beautiful landscape. Namaste :) After interesting southern part of India we headed further up along western coast to explor Kerala's seaside strip. We made our first stop in Kerala...at the beach called Varkala. We heard a lot of nice things about this beach so we decided to spend a couple of days there and relax a little bit from previous 2 very fatiguing weeks. So many memories :) This incredible huge country with more than 1,12 BILLION (!) people living in it is really something special!!!! And it's different! Mingalaba again! From Inle lake we continued with a cargo bus (hehehe...those bumpy and narrow roads in Burma are not for everyone - definitely a night to remember) to Mandalay, where we rented bicycles and wandered around busy streets, local markets, climbed up to the Mandalay hill just in time for the sunset, visited old wooden monastery and main pagoda with huge golden Buddha (from the first blog). Mingalaba! I can easily say, that so far I have been in a couple of countrys around the world, but Burma...the largest country in mainland Southeast Asia is definitely one of my favourites so far! It is GREAT! hey, hey In short - we started our journey in the northern part of Thailand with Chiang Rai, Pai, Chiang Mai and then continued to a huge Bangkok. In Bangkok we spent New year on Khao San street with one really fantastic street band and delicious coctails in our hands!!! Of course it was great and unforgettable! Last month we decided (in Lao) that it is still too early to go back home to Slovenia in the middle of february...so we extended our flight tickets!!!!
