TEA TIME! Time was flying like crazy again. Usually it happens to me when I am on the road... If I am honest I am not used to fast paced travels any more... we actually had to plan (!) in advance otherwise we wouldn't make it to the south at all. It would be nice to stop the time once in a while and just enjoy a little bit longer in all those nice views that we saw on the train from Kandy to Ella. Joy ride! Ella is a beautiful small village in Sri Lanka's hill country, surrounded by hills perfect for walks through tea plantations to temples and waterfalls. Since Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, enjoys a premium positioning in worlds tea production obviously tea is of high importance to the Sri Lankan economy and ... read more

Sri Lankan trip was exactly like that - like a "travel" dose straight into my vein...guess I am addicted to backpacking :) This time I decided to leave just for a really, really, really short period (at least for me) which felt like a drop in the ocean...it was short, but sweet :) The thing is that I got a job and the very first thing that went through my mind was...ok, I have 3more weeks - where can I go???? After all it passed 6months since I came back home so... so I checked air fares&weather forecast, booked the first reasonable flight and 5 days later I find myself with a backpack and free as a bird again :) And it felt great :) Sri Lanka was definitely the right choice - specially because my ... read more

Zivjo, hello, zdravo, hola, halla, bonjour, שלום, hallo, γειά σου, ... to all my friends around the globe! Soooooooooo I came back to hot Slovenia a while ago and of course was devastating at first. After 2weeks of being home and felling a little bit »absent« my best friend Ursula asked me if I want to go with her to Montenegro on a bike tour. Imagine that! As you probably know me she didn't need to ask me twice if I want to go along! So we started. Me, Ursula and Big Bertha - our big, white van and the third »girl« on this trip. From Slovenia we went straight to Dubrovnik (Croatia) and then across the border to Montenegro which has a population of only 650 575 inhabitants. We spent our first night in Kotor, ... read more

Hola a todos!!!! Hello to everyone!!!! After a longer period I am publishing again. I wanted to make some kind of an end to my Latin American trip. That's right - the end! I came back to Slovenia suddenly. Unfortunately I wasn't planning my return, but things are happening when you least expect them...and I had to accept them. I spent last 9 months in San Agustin, Colombia (still my favourite country) and I'm already missing it a lot. A lot has happened in the past few months and if I am honest I don't even know where to start...so I won't even begin :) :) :) Although I was on the road for the past 1,5 year, time flew by so fast that you can't even imagine. Well, even I can't believe it. With one ... read more

Hola a todos! I will be short this time...photos will tell u more. And I am feeling lazy today... I went with a friend to Neiva to extend my visa...and from there we went to the Tatacoa desert. It was freaking hot, but increible...and we have a great time! Maybe it doens-t look like those deserts in Africa, but they still call it - a desert. Well, at least it was hot like in a desert. During the night you can observe all those amazing stars and milky way...words can not describe the beauty. Colombia is still surprising me daily with its nature and diversity. Then I got sick...for about 3weeks (pleura infection)! You can imagine my december with antibiotics and pain tablets...oh yeah :( BUT - what doensn-t kill you makes you stronger :) Now ... read more

Hola a todos!!!! For all of you that were sending me emails and asking me where am I and what am I doing…well, here is my answer. Surprise, surprise…I am still in my fav Colombia :) I was on the way to Ecuadorian border, but somehow got stucked here :) For the past 2months I am located in this amazing hotel⁄hostel CASA DE NELLY. Yes, I do work, but I work with pleasure. I discovered this little paradise with a huge botanical garden, hammocks and friendly people about 3 months ago when I was travelling around Colombia with my mother and sister. We came to San Agustin and fall in love with hotel Casa de Nelly. The accommodation is cheap (private rooms, 15-20.000 COP - 7,5 to 10$), rooms are big, clean and very originally decorated, ... read more

HOLA A TODOS! Again, it has been a while since my last blog…but…I really put a lot of effort into this one. After I don-t know how many years of travelling around "so called" 3rd world countries I decided to write about every day things that are normal here, but maybe not so "normal" in other parts of the world. This is probably the longest blog I published, but I think it is worth to take a short break from work or whatever you are doing right now. Most of the things that I listed below are typical only for Colombia (!!!!), but some of them are typical for all Latin America or 3rd world countries in general. • In Latin America they eat a lot of chicken, beans and rice. A typical menu of the ... read more

Hola my friends! This is a bit shorter blog which I saved 2months ago, but I think it is still worth publishing it. Travelling with Eduardo aka "el mexicano" is like travelling with a local guy. I think he is an amazing person and I consider myself very happy to be his friend. After meeting him in Nicaragua I really thought that we will see again somewhere in Argentina, but after funny circumstances we were in Panama city at the same time. Then he flew to Cartagena a couple of days after me and suggested that it's finally time for me to discover "real" Colombia as well. I couldn't agreed more. So he invited me to go discover not so popular cities&villages between Cartagena and Medellin! We started in Cartagena and visited bigger, smaller and even ... read more

Hola a todos!!! YES ...I am still in Colombia! Ok...I just spent more then 3weeks in Bogota where I had a lot of fun! Sometimes u are asking me why I don't publish more pictures about myself...well...your wish is my command! So I arrived to Bogota with my mother and sister, but they spent only two days there...then they left me here all alone...alone in this huge city of 7 million people. Poor, poor me! Hahahaha...just kidding! Of course not! When they left I called my friend Giseth who lives here. I know Giseth from 4years ago when I was here with Ursula and I can assure u that she is THE funniest girl in Bogota. I moved to her apartment and after that I basically just started wandering around the streets of Bogota! It is ... read more

Hola again!!!! ok...so this is just a second part of our trip! We flew from Cartagena to Neiva and from there we went straight to San Augustin...I went there for the second time and still love it! the nature is just amazing...and of course we were lucky, cause we found this "Casa de Nelly" - imagine cabañas sorrounded with a botanical garden, animals and friendly people (like always in Colombia)...it was just perfect. First we planned to stay there for 2 days, but at the end we spent there 5days :) An why exactly did we go there on the first place??? The San Agustin archaeological park in Colombia includes a wide variety of stone sculptures carved between AD 100 and 1200. In the park are an amazing array of separate stone sculptures, in the shapes ... read more
