the one and only WHALE SHARK!
the one and only WHALE SHARK!
incredible experience :)
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW... Bubbles, blueness, fishes in all kinds of colours&shapes, corals...it is like swimming in the most diverse aquarium that u can imagine!!! I was amazed. We decided to spend our last 2 weeks on the beaches of Thailand. Great decision - especially after months in India. We wanted to dive a little bit, so we picked Koh Tao island which is well known among divers. We weren't dissapointed...just the opposite :) Instead of one week we spent there 2 weeks...and wanted to stay even longer and longer and longer...Koh Thao is one of those places where we could spend much, [View Full Entry]

Darjeeling! Small part of India somewhere between Bhutan&Nepal...backed by marvellous Himalayan panorama, tea plantations and hill station. Everything was different here...no more cows on the streets, cooler climate and much more tibetians. After hot&sultry Varanasi this was a huge climate change for us. From 30 degrees&sun to only 8degrees&rain...with summer clothes of course. We felt this change immediately when we took a jeep up to in the mountains. First couple of days we had terrible weather with rain and mist so we spent most of the time in a safe shelter within four walls. It was [View Full Entry]

Hello to all of YOU!!! We heard so much about holy city of Varanasi...that we really had big expectations - dirty river, crowds of people taking baths at numerous ghats, smoke, babas, pujas, ... Another city which didn’t disappoint us. Varanasi is generally believed to be about 3,000 years old and probably comes in the third place between the worlds oldest cities. Varanasi culture is associated with the Ganges river and its religious importance to Hindus as a link to their spirituality. The Ganga is believed to have flown from the heaven to wash away the worldly sins of the hu [View Full Entry]

Namaste :) Interesting days in Rajasthan went by way too fast so we had to pack our »easy« backpacks and moved again. Again a lot of interesting places and people...and after every corner a new thing to discover :) In 16,4 million Mumbai/Bombay we visited the most gothic building in the city! The building is an impressive Victoria terminus or CST railway station which is the busiest train station in whole Asia and listed on Unesco Worlds heritage list since 2004. And how busy is this railway station? Let me put it this way...More than 2 million people pass by this [View Full Entry]

Namaste again! After a little bit more relaxing days at the beaches in Kerala and Goa we continued to a vibrant desert of Rajasthan. The Land of the Kings is without a doubt my favourite one in India. This is a place where tradition and history blend with friendly people and beautiful landscape. All those characteristic turbans, glittering saris, camels, even more cows on the streets, rhythmically traditional music, mainly vegetarian food, pilgrims, holy lake, palaces, forts, havelis (traditional, ornately decorated residences), blue houses...and people who invite you on a cup of chai [View Full Entry]

BEACH TIME :)

 Asia » India » Kerala
Namaste :) After interesting southern part of India we headed further up along western coast to explor Kerala's seaside strip. We made our first stop in Kerala...at the beach called Varkala. We heard a lot of nice things about this beach so we decided to spend a couple of days there and relax a little bit from previous 2 very fatiguing weeks. Varkala is well known for its cliffs, black beach, very strong currents, yoga training, ayurvedic-related treatments, relaxing bars, higher prices, western food and laid back atsmosphere... . A couple of days went by before we could learn how to [View Full Entry]

My India is GREAT
My India is GREAT
I really, really like these signs on a buses in Calcutta
NAMASTE! Welcome to incredible India! I don't even know where to begin??? So many memories :) This incredible huge country with more than 1,12 BILLION (!) people living in it is really something special!!!! And it's different! India represents 2.4% of the world's land area and it supports over 15% of the world's population. By 2035 will probably exceed China as the world's most populated country!!!! It's chaotic, very polluted, loud, improbably dirty & smelly, overpopulated, with poverty and cows on every step...BUT at the same time it is extremly interesting, beautiful, different, [View Full Entry]

Mingalaba again! From Inle lake we continued with a cargo bus (hehehe...those bumpy and narrow roads in Burma are not for everyone - definitely a night to remember) to Mandalay, where we rented bicycles and wandered around busy streets, local markets, climbed up to the Mandalay hill just in time for the sunset, visited old wooden monastery and main pagoda with huge golden Buddha (from the first blog). Next day we rented one old motorbike, borrowed a map and went straight to 4 ancient cities. First one on our list was Palaik, which is well known as "mini Bagan"...lots of different [View Full Entry]

Mingalaba! I can easily say, that so far I have been in a couple of countrys around the world, but Burma...the largest country in mainland Southeast Asia is definitely one of my favourites so far! It is GREAT! Country with 3 million monks in their red dresses, one gold pagoda on almost every corner or small hill, men wearing long skirts (longyis), women covering their faces with "tanaka", old and crowded local buses, pick up trucks, great music and their obsession with karaoke, colourful streets and busy markets, street stalls with delicious tea...and great feeling like if somebody would [View Full Entry]
