You can meet me in Slovenia at the moment...but who knows when&where will "sail" away again... :D

Hello, a short trip to Lisbon happend unplanned in February - only a week before my Philippine trip, but as usual I didn't find time to post this blog before. I spent few days in Lisboa with Andrej :) Our paths crossed spontaneously last year and I think we didn't know at that time where will all that lead ... anyway - Lisbon charmed us with its narrow streets and contemporary culture, good food, bleached limestone buildings, friendly locals and most of all ... with those small details that make one place so special :) Since Lisbon enjoys a mediterranean climate that makes it a popular year round destination ... big LIKE :) Enjoy the pics, Jana

Philippines are with over 7000 tropical islands one of the best destinations for relaxation and underwater exploration. Numerous islands will definitely satisfy every single taste ... If in my previous blog was all about rice and rice terraces is this blog about turquoise sea and all that comes along with it ---> enjoy my pics :) Lots of positive energy and allt he best, Jana
... read moreHello, hello :) It's been a while since my last blog ... and it's about time to post some photos about Philippines where I've been in March :) Since long ago I had Philipines on my bucket list :) I went there with a friend of mine (Peter is his name) and we spent great time there. Rice terraces, trekkings, diving, island hopping and friendly people are the words which describe this archipelago comprising of more then 7.000 islands. After arriving in huge Manila which is the most densely populated city in the world we decided to leave it behind as fast as possible. Our first night bus was to the northern part where we made second stop in Banaue. Banaue is well known after its several rice terraces which are fed by an ancient irrigation

Recently I'm spending (suspiciously) a lot of time in the mountains ... maybe I'm turning into real Slovenian girl ... meet Jana ---> the mountain girl
... read moreAre you going to TogA??? Togo? We even got a that question before we went to TogO… TOGO is a small West African country bordered by Ghana to the west, Benin to the east and Burkina Faso to the north. TOGA is a cloth worn exclusively by men in Ancient Rome :) There is a "small" difference between these 2 words We decided to make a quick jump to this small country since we were so close... After all - why not? We knew that Togo is obviously not in the top 5 choices for backpackers since the majority of tourists go to the neighboring Ghana. We actually didn't meet not even one (!) backpacker while we were there - only few foreign volunteers who were situated at one place and didn't move around. Togo is

Busua beach should be – according to Lonely planet – one of the nicest beaches in Ghana »blessed with a long , sandy stretch and water ideal for swimming«…. well I don't know who was doing research for Lonely planet, but Busua beach wasn't like that at all. The beach is light years away from that. Don't get me wrong – it's was ok, but not as nice as they wrote down in LP guidebook. First we planned to stay there a couple of days, but changed our minds after a day. We were thinking about moving a bit more to the West, towards Ivory coast

Well… why not? :) After all my previous trips was about time for me to check if mangos are as good I was told in Africa. Mama africa was adventure for itself. It's great to see that some places or things can still surprise me :) Like most of my previous trips everything happened quite spontaneous. Although this trip lasted only 3 short weeks I got the sense of real mama Africa. Probably I don't have to mention that I just warmed up with a backpack on my shoulders when I realized I have to go back, but this is another story… You should meet Staša :) Another crazy slovenian girl who I was traveling with and

It's been exactly a year (!!!!) since I'm back in Europe and time in my life is still flying with a supersonic speed... Last year (around this time) my friend Ursula took me on a road trip through Montenegro so a bike trip around Bosnia&Hercegovina went through our minds fast when we were thinking where to go this year... No plan, 2 bikes, one car fullllll of everything and 2 »locas« is an every time win-win combination. On the way down to Bosnia&Hercegovina we decided to make a short stop in Sarajevo for the very best chevapcici - traditional Bosnian dish of grilled minced meat or lamb ... to smoke Nargile (Turkish water pipe) and to stroll around

I found it again. :) :) :) I found a perfect place with an endless sandy beach, hammocks, breeze, friendly people and most of all – a place where you can do absolutely nothing but to kick back in a hammock and enjoy your life. Well, if your plan is to see as much Sri Lanka as possible…then I would suggest you to make a stop at Sandy's place at the end of your trip, because otherwise you will get stuck here :) :) Trust me. An endless stretch of sand with not a single person, lush vegetation, beautiful palm trees, original decorated cabanas (bungalows) just few steps from the ocean…what more would you want?! The friendly owner Chammy/Chaminda run this place along with his family and with a help of his very

If I am honest I am not used to fast paced travels any more... we actually had to plan (!) in advance otherwise we wouldn't make it to the south at all. It would be nice to stop the time once in a while and just enjoy a little bit longer in all those nice views that we saw on the train from Kandy to Ella. Joy ride! Ella is a beautiful small village in Sri Lanka's hill country, surrounded by hills perfect for walks through tea plantations to temples and waterfalls. Since Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, enjoys a premium positioning in worlds tea production obviously tea is of high importance to the Sri Lankan economy and
