So today we went to the Portrait Gallery and the British Museum, and we went to the hospital. For me. Woke up this morning. I have pink eye... But I saved money going to the hospital here rather than going home and goig to the doc!! I only had to pay for the Eye drops thats it. Not to see the doctor nothing. Cost me £6.50. Thats about 12 USD. And if I didnt mention it before, we're back in London, and we go home on the 19th. That is all for now talk to you all soon! [View Full Entry]

Amsterdam is cheap and easy to get to/from. London is just too expensive. So we will be hanging out here till the 16th or so, then head bacvk to london to see some more there. Good fun, just letting yall know. Oh and HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!! Wasnt too exciting in London or Amsterdam (we left for amsterdam on the 4th). Talk to yall later! [View Full Entry]

Well all good things come to an end right?? After Cairo we headed to Aswan. Aswan is on the Tropic of Cancer so it is the closest point on earth to the sun, and it sure felt like it. We stayed at a place called Keylani there decent place, our room had airconditioning which I am soo greatful for! Anyhow we went down one day at 3:30 am and drove 3½ hours to Abu Simbel where they had some huge tombs dedicated to Ramses II. It was about 40 Km from the Sudan border. That was kinda crazy. The tombs were [View Full Entry]

Khan el-Kalili

Africa » Egypt » Lower Egypt » Cairo
Well today was also very interesting. We decided to go to the Khan el-Kalili. That would be Cairos largest bazaar. They have pretty much everything you can think of and probably 2 times more of things you cant. Lots of heat and TONS of people!! We got there and looked around found some touristy stuff that we might have bought but decided to not buy it till we came back to Cairo when we were leaving. We wondered further into the market, this market takes up blocks and blocks and blocks! Its HUGE! We got touts from everyside, they would all [View Full Entry]

Well Egypt is quite the beast. Let me start with the good. We have a very nice room with air conditioning and a sink and its very comfortable. By Egyptian standards I am sure this is a very good place. It has a view and a nice balcony and we are on the 7th floor. This place is also very cheap. I get about 5.76 for every 1 US dollar. A bottle of coke costs me 1 egyptian dollar. I bought 2 fresh watermellon for 10 egyptian pounds. Taxis cost about 4 US dollars to go from here to the pyramids [View Full Entry]

EGYPT!!!!

Africa » Egypt » Lower Egypt » Cairo
Saw the parthenon and all that jazz, went to a greek island swam got sunburned, then caught my flight here. Totally different world here. We caught the scariest taxi ride of our lives from the airport to this hostel. This hostel is very cheap, and is good im sure compared to egyptian standards. I think it is pretty nice, have a really nice view of a big egyptian road, and part of the Egyptian Museum, we are on the 7th floor. Anywho, I will update more later, I need to find an internet cafe because this keyboard is driving me NUTS!! [View Full Entry]

All sorts

 Oceania
Well I kinda got to make this short but I have a few things I need to hit. Saw the Saint Peters Basilica, the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. Saint Peters Basilica was AMAZING!! It was just...amazing! You could fit the Statue of Liberty in that church with 90 feet of rooom to spare! And I saw a waxed pope!! EEW! I also climbed the dome and saw the skyline of Rome. I saw the Forum, the place where Julius Ceaser was burned all of that, Palantine Hill I think I said that before though... Anyhow the thing that is [View Full Entry]

Well today is sunday and things are closed so it was just a walk around do what we want day. We took the metro down to the olympic offices to try and move Jocelynes departure to Cairo date. Couldnt really find the office...might not be there...dunno. Then we went and looked at some fountains, one of which is something like Trevi Fountain. Really pretty, really touristy. Then we were walking around and decided to go and just walk by the Colleseum since we are going to go do the tour thing tomorrow. The Colloseum is AMAZING!! Just the whole area around [View Full Entry]

Ok left Paris and went to Venice, spent one whole day there. Wondered around, and by wondered around i mean got lost. You really dont know where your goin lol and you cant see anything as teh buildings are built really closely to one another. We found St. Marks square though, that was really cool. Fed the pigeons. Got hassled by the rose flower guys. And just wondered around and had a great day. Venice was beautiful but it is SUPER touristy and you can tell. Glad I didnt stay ther for too long, it was also super expensive! The place [View Full Entry]
