You know you are in South Korea when: You wake up at 8am on a Saturday and you hear someone outside your window vomming. Magical >~< My second weekend back and I am feeling tired... Uh oh... It is Thursday in the AM. Week two of being back in South Korea… First week being back at school. Time is flying, but I am really in a space where I can just enjoy the beauty around me. This semester has missed all of the suprises and unknowns of last year, both semesters. This was like a right to the point sort of day and oddly, I appreciated and was slightly sad that the mysterious, lack of communication factor has disapeared ; ) My first lesson was pretty basic and I'm glad the students are used to coping with the unexpected because when we walked into the classroom it was still dressed up in English Camp mode. South Korea, year 2^^ Okay, I think I should have been more specific in my ‘quarantine’ status. Swine Flu in South Korea is being viewed as a pandemic. People here are CRAZY about this new virus. I went to school this morning for a teachers meeting and in the front of every building there is a table with antibacterial spray and directions about hand washing. So I arrived and rather quickly recieved a texted and then phone call from my coteacher telling me that I must not come to school for a week. Now, who would argue with that. So I embraced this week to get back to my yoga routine and adjust to the time difference and read. Three books. It has been incredible. The US of A was perfect. I did everything I had hoped to do and more… Seeing my mama at the airport. Islands. Coming home to my neice, a three year old, who wrapped her arms around my neck and whispered into my ear, “It has been so many years. I’ve missed you.” Right then I knew this trip would be greater than I could have ever anticipated. FAMILY! Having everyone come together 4 times. So incredible and magical and perfect. I had it in my mind after two weeks of rain that washing my clothes was going to be an absurd challenge because there is no breeze to dry my hanging laundry and dryers just don't exist here... I have a little over three weeks until I am back in CA!!! So exciting. I found out amazing news yesterday: no more night class until next semester AND I get to puppy sit in the next couple of weeks. ELATION. Itis a Tues night at 7:14pm and I am relaxing at the yoga studio, which is suuuch a grand change of pace. I am working on adjusting my diet, which over the last few weeks has consisted of mainly ice flakes, which is waaaay unhealthier than it sounds and sweet potato lattes... It is amazing how much life has happened since my last post. I’m sitting in my apartment breathing in the semi-stale air, realizing that I need to buy a fan. I asked a friend how he dries his clothes because thus far this summer, I have washed twice only to find immediate downpour outside, which means muggy stillness and no drying. So I have had mildew issues. It seems fans are the cure-all.
