Off we set deep into the heart of New Delhi (a place that resembles Washington D.C. more than the bazars of Old Delhi) to its tree lined avenues, perfectly straight roads and eerie silence. We were, however, being taken in a state of the art, laws-of-physics-defying, machine from heaven. This was not a ordinary run-of-the-mill Asian tuk-tuk (autorickshaw) no no - it was a Delhi tuk-tuk To build a Delhi tuk-tuk one must think small, really small, almost lawnmower small, add some side-impact protection systems (plastic sheeting - one side only), remove mirrors and replace with secondary horn (in case first is not working/loud enough) and add shrines to the various dieties of please-don't-let-me-die-today.
