Day 1 Landed in Paris at around 10am with very little sleep, lots of Jet lag, and a real hate for people traveling with babys. My friend Jean meet me at the airport and together we took the train into Paris. Got a quick sense of the metro (which makes Torontos look like nothing) and dropped my bag off at Jeans apartment. Jean was in the process of getting ready to leave for an intrernship in Cameroon and had to leave for school. So not wanting to go to bed right away even that my body screamed for it, I went for a nice walk around Paris. As I started down one of the main streets my senses were in overload! Even the apartment buildings here have so much character and culture. I started to dread ... read more

hey guys. so unfortunately we can't upload any pics so you'll have to rely on the power of imagination. all here is well, we've had a busy couple of days and are just now finding time to sit down and reflect about them. we spent a lazy xmas morning on the beach followed by a long 4 mile kayak adventure out to some of the cayes off of placencia penninsula. later we enjoyed an awesome 4 course meal at a local restuarant run by a couple who also run a spa in the area - AJ finally had his stake and I enjoyed some lobster, shrimps and baracouda...mmm. we spent boxing day at cockscomb basin (the world's only jaguar reserve) where we took a medicinal plant nature walk/lecture and swam at the base of a beautiful ... read more
hey guys, so we just lost 2 blog entires and are feeling a little frustrated about the internet connection. so in brief we've made it here, we love our cabin, we're tanned, well-fed, hot and relaxed. We've been keeping busy with bike rides, swimming, snorkeling and exploring. We appologize for the lack of photos but the internet connection makes it really hard to get them up - we'll keep trying. So for now, Merry Chirstmas. We're going out kayaking for the day tomorrow to visit some of the closer cayes and do some more snorkeling. We'll give this another shot in the next couple of days. Happy Holidays. ... read more
Well we finally made it to Belize! First lesson of our trip·: do not use Quick Bus Lines ...Why? They're not quick. We barely made it on our flight out of Seattle. Major traffic conjestion and construction had us on the edge of our seats wondering if our trip would be delayed overnight in the USA. Gladly, after running like crazy through the airport and nearly 2 days of travelling we have arrived in beautiful Belize City at the Seaside Inn with a few other travellers. We're right on the ocean just a few streets out of the main city, it's a busy place with lots of music, street vendors, and straggalers. After being warned about the crime in the city, we've been pleasantly suprised find most people to be friendly and helpful. People mostly speak ... read more
