| 28th March 2008 Vanessa | taps (faucets) in NZ - From: Kiwi Culture is setting in Hi, your blog is so funny, it gives me a different perspective on my own country. for your tap problem, you should have both taps running at the same time, cup your hands, fill it with cold water, then fill it a little bit with hot water, and you get lukewarm water to wash your face! wow kiwi ingenuity i know.. hahaha.. |
| 14th October 2007 Jess | Wierd... - From: Kiwi Culture is setting in About your taps, most households have combined spouts with the lever thing you twist about to get the ideal temperature of water, only old houses don't have them. I'm guessing you're probably staying in University accomodation, which is usually cheap and crappy. And also what do you mean by, "what is a mince anyway??" a mince pie is a pastry case filled with mince (minced beef) and gravy. Savoury and delicious! |

| 31st January 2007 Maggie Dimon | Merci beaucoup! - From: To the Heights of Europe: An Alpine Ascent in Chamonix Shelly, I loved the card you sent from Chamonix. I cut off the cover and taped it to my bedroom windowpane so that the sun shines through the stained glass window reproductions. It's beautiful. So glad you and Phil enjoyed Chartres (and everything else). Your web site is wonderful (Thanks to Mary Henry for telling me about it!) Meilleurs voeux--la mere de Philippe |
| 23rd January 2007 Christian | It has been a pleasure - From: Frohes Fest! Joyeux Nöel! Merry Christmas! Hi Shelly, It was good having you here for xmas and I am glad that you liked it. Well, I still have some remarks about the blog entry. Firstly, we had Gluehwein and Feuerzangenbowle. It is called Christkindlmarkt or Weihnachtsmarkt. Furthermore - and that is really important to us Germans - it the the Autobahn and we had no Sauerkraut for dinner... Never! Only the "funny" bavarians have it... Ok, I just had some for dinner too.. But there was no Sauerkraut for Xmas dinner! ;-) And last but not least the Husum Aquarium is called Multimar Wattforum and is in Toenning ;-) Despite all this it was an awesome time with you! Miss you heaps and hope to welcome you soon again! Your NZ bro Christian |
