| 6th October 2005 Papa | Mo Sumo Pho Fo Sho - From: Edo-Tokyo Museum & Sumo Great Sumo pictures! Wish there were more. However did you get such close-ups? If only I weighed 200 pounds more, I'd be there for sure. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 6th October 2005 Papa | Water in the Closet - From: Edo-Tokyo Museum & Sumo If I had to comment on the first four pictures, I would entitle them as such: The royal outhouse; the royal "paper", chosen by only the most trusted servant; the royal flusher (poker pun intended), carried by only the least trusted servant; and, of course, the communal potty (demonstrated by two fully clothed models). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 6th October 2005 Papa | Home Safe - From: Earthquake I must admit, that if you must be in an earthquake anywhere, I'd rather you be there than here. You're likely to fair far better. Of course, the next time that happens, and you're in the same restaurant, go ahead and dive under the table. The locals will just attribute it to being from Los Angeles. But make sure someone takes video. Submitted with love. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 13th September 2005 Papa | And the meek shall inherit... - From: Thunderstorm Well, we finally get to see the camera shy Misato. She appears to be shy more than just in front of the camera. I don't know why, though. She is very pretty. I hope she takes good care of you (or at least tolerates your thespian personallity). The fact that she has not run off yelling and shouting Japanese obsurdities is a good sign. 13th September 2005 | Victoria - From: Thunderstorm | Hi Shell- Sounds like you're having lots of fun in Tokyo like I am in Paris! You should have done karaoke although I'm sorry you have a cold... what's new?!?! That moldy croissant is on it's way, so hope you enjoy it! No, just kidding... but I'm eating lots of croissants and really enjoying them! Love you lots and miss you! Your blonde twin 7th September 2005 | Sarah Gu... Just go to www.tokyocomedy.com and it will let you know about shows and stuff. Most of their shows are in Harajuku (near Shibuya). I saw them and they were hilarious. 5th September 2005 | Papa There's no place like...or is there? - From: Photo Tour | It looks like you have a quaint and cozy little appartment there. And yet, I think you might find it roomier than your "room" at home. Thank you for sharing your accommodations. The pictures speak louder than any words. I understand now about the shower. 1st September 2005 | Papa The Words You Eat May Be Your Own - From: Classes and Clinics | It is only human to form opinions about people, in general, quickly. The danger is letting that opinion guide how you listen and respond to a person over time. My lateral lispers think I'm crazy because I have them stick their tongues out at me. Only well into the therapy do they understand why. I loved getting lectures from professors with whom I did not agree. First it presented me with a new perspective. After I digested the counter view, I either affirmed my previous position, or adjusted it accordingly. You must admit ignorance before you can learn; and learning does NOT mean agreement. Finally, you might want to write your comments about your professors in a separate journal. Then, you can transfer them to this venue after you have left the school. Remember, professors have computers, too. Don't think they can't find this blog, either. I wouldn't want you to have to eat the words you've written here. Or at best, wish to God you hadn't written them quite so soon. Keep your mind open, and your heart filled with love. Know your father loves you and keeps you in his prayers. Love, Papa. 1st September 2005 | Mary - From: Classes and Clinics | Well this semester should be quite interesting if nothing else given all those dynamics! Love the pictures! Get more when you can...hope Ani's leg is better. Keep writing! We miss you and love you!
