Due to not being able to update on the go I have put two entries here and dated them to save confusion. 23/11 5pm. So my last boat trip (aboard the soleway lass) got off to a interesting start mostly due to the fact that the crew seemed like something out of the Brady bunch. I half expected at bed time for them to say goodnight to each and every person. To make things more interesting The trip was populated with 17 year old kids who had just finished school (the ozzies call them schoolies.) Today I finally have a true day off which gives me a chance to catch up on sleep and to also update my blog (you lucky devils.) Since my last blog I have done 4 trips on a maxi sailing yacht as a extra crew member. The first was with my brother and sister in law as passengers on a boat called boomerang. This trip went really well and both said they had a good time which is always good. The trips consist of a afternoon sailing to begin with and then the opportunity to go for a swim or sometimes a snorkel. Then dinner and normally a fair amount of alcahol. So the full moon party saw my welcome return to alcohol and started. We started drinking in the Hostel at 14:30 and made our way to the ferry with our boxes and bottles of goon (cheap so called wine.) In the party is one Dutch guy, a Swedish Guy (Fred) 3 German girls (as Australia is just full of Germans) and me. We get to Magnetic Island at 17:30 and went onto one of the local beaches near to where the party was being held. Quite a lot of Goon later we head to the party. Entry Missing!!!!! Ed and Fred So on Friday the 21st I finally managed to get out of Cairns with a fully operational bank account. I got the 13:00 greyhound bus from Cairns to Mission Beach. I’m on the bus for about 30 seconds when I get chatting to the Swedish guy sitting next me. He is doing the east coast as well and has been in Australia for one more week than me. We get on really well and make a plan to exchange numbers and meet up while in Mission Beach. His name is Fred (hence the title of the blog) and he is a little younger than me but has the same outlook on life. So the last few days. Lots of highs and a few lows. Sunday: I finally got the details through of my bank account but this meant I had to go and visit the bank, so no white water river rafting. This got moved to Thursday (for now.) Monday: Got to the bank to be told that my card had been sent to a po box and that they did not have it. They instructed me to go to the post office. Got to the post office to be told that the po box that the card had been sent to belonged to the bank. Went back to the bank and politely informed them of their error and said I would be back on Friday to pick up my card or instruct them where to send it ... read more

So my first full day in Australia was started with a hangover! The day picked up as I headed to the Lagoon which is a man made beach. The weather was fantastic and the water warm from the sun. In the evening I went to a pub called the Woolshed which is where the free meal is for stopping in the hostel. They were doing a pub quiz and my luck was in and managed to win with 2 other meaning I got 33 dollars. Wednesday was my reef trip which meant a early start. Honk Kong Update: Honk Kong was amazing! A lot like New York in a lot of ways. The plane over was ok and took less time than what was stated in my itinerary. Managed to see Green Lantern and Cars 2 while on the plane which was good. Managed to make a friend on the plane Called Kevin and the pair of us went out drinking the day I arrived. We both said it would just be a quite one but of course in turned into a proper session. Talked to a lot of the locals which was interesting due to the language barrier but fun all the same. Well Here it is my last UK Blog. The last few days have been manic! Getting everything sorted for the house has been a nightmare and what I thought would be one car load actually turned into two car loads and 2 trips to the tip. At least the house is empty and clean and ready for the new people to move in next week. All of my goodbyes have been said, well apart from the one to my Mum and Dad who I will be wishing farewell two later. They are very kindly taking me to Heathrow Airport later today. Well my first proper day of unemployment was full to the brim with exciting things. I managed to go for a run which is something I haven't managed to find time for in ages. I went to Masala to buy a load of cheap t-shirts and shorts and also went to a few stores in town to sell the last few dvds and games. I purchased land lord insurance and did my last shop at my local Tesco store. I also watched the first episode of a idiot abroad 2 and started hoping that my trip was nothing like Karls trip, although the bungie jump looked interesting.
