Hey Everybody! While ya'll probably clicked on this blog thinking that you were going to read about a crazy night I had this past weekend where I drink to much alcohol maybe climbed a light pole to steal a official world cup flag and then blacked out and did not remember... I am sorry to inform you that is not what the title means. As some of you might know but most of you won't this past weekend was the opening of the Rugby World Cup here in New Zealand. When we arrived in Greymouth it was once again dark and hard to really see what the small west coast town looked like. We dropped the girls off at the hostel checked into a hotel and immediately looked for a bar to have a drink and celebrate our conquering of a glacier. After walking around for what seemed like an hour on a single street we finally settled on the Coal Face restaurant: stone grill. This was a great pick because they served their dinner on a stone grill, which meant I got to cook my main meal by myself on a stone at 400*. Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have just arrived back in Wellington after 14 days of traveling around the South Island for my first and only Spring Break, which was amazing. The crew for the break included: Miss Molly O'neil - one of my good friends from Charleston who is studying in Christchurch Emma Lynch - one of my neighbors in Wellington Lindsey Lynch - Emma's older sister who was visiting Keara O'Neil - one of my flatmates and making her first appearance in over 30 years the very own MAMA SCUDS Day 1: Saturday August 20 Me, Emma, Keara, and Lindsey left Wellington Saturday evening and flew too Christchurch to spend the night before our mighty adventure begin. So it has begun... Wellington on a Plate!!! This past weekend was the start of the Wellington food festival which takes place throughout the month of August. As I mentioned in a pervious blog I signed up to volunteer for BEERVANA, which is a two day beerfest with four, four hour long sessions. I volunteered for the Friday night session from 5-10. As a volunteer I had to work one session and then I got to attend a session for free with twenty free beer tokens. On Friday I walked down to Beervana which was being held in our Rugby stadium, with three of my friends. Upon arrival I got assigned to the Canterbury Bar. When it comes to roommates I seem to always luck out with getting put with the good ones. There has never seem to have been a dull moment in my life when I start a new chapter in my life which involves living with complete strangers. As many of you will recall my freshman year roommate in college who peed on me, became a lost person, broke many windows, and was an overall drunk. I am pretty sure I will never be able to find a roommate that will top her list but I have found roommates who can just add onto it.
