Well it’s been over a year since I started my blog and I am pretty proud that I have kept it up I am not sure what the future is going to bring as Cairns seemed like the ideal place to start my entry into the diving industry but after my experience the other day here I am still looking for work. So what was so bad I hear you ask well hang I will tell…….Well after using my amazing charm I managed to secure myself a three day trial with a local dive operator whom I can tell you are [View Full Entry]

I have been in Cairns now for a little over five days now, not much has happened on the job front at the moment but I have been a lot more eager than I anticipated I would be. I have been knocking on all the dive shops, handing in my CV and they have all been polite and taken it whether they wanted to or not. I am also expecting a call over the next couple of days from a dive shop in Magnetic Island so hopefully that is a good call and not one to tell me they have filled [View Full Entry]

I want One of these

After reaching Manly via the very scenic route of Sydney Harbour I felt a bit more at home being on the water for a start was good and I stepped off the ferry and instantly felt a cool calm feel to Manly and the entire goings on there. Walking in the direction that I knew the beach was in I clapped eyes on why so many people out here surf the waves were constant and looked from my very limited knowledge of surfing fairly big and challenging for some others were easily taking them in there stride. I decided to come [View Full Entry]

Emm Waves!!!

Hello everybody well after arriving safely and spending a few days with Terry, Gee, Ben and Adam in Castle Hill which is about 30k outside Sydney I decided I should head down to the main town and see the sights. Off to Kings Cross I went which remineded me very much of London as a street with all the homeless people, drug issues and seedy strip clubs!!. I was a little bit shocked to be honest I didn't expect this here in Sydney but nevertheless I looked for a hostel and ended up in the Globe which was cheap at $15 [View Full Entry]

Today was Songkran here in Pattaya it was the big day today anyway it has been water fights on and off since the 13th April here, I thought it would be pretty cool to be here for this festival as I was assured by people who had been here last year that it is a mad one. Songkran is a Thai word which means "move" or "change place" as it is the day when the sun changes its position in the zodiac. It is also known as the "Water Festival" as people believe that water will wash away bad luck. The [View Full Entry]

Only a few years overdue
I came back with the intention of seeing as many of my friends and family as I could and after landing and arriving back in Portsmouth for a few days staying with my friend Craig, Rob and Kev they have been putting up with me boring them about how life is out there etc. I then went to see Omar, Charlie, Jackee and Mike and the rest of the gang in Somerset to get some well needed cider. Charlie did not know I was coming home and got a little bit of a shock as it was her 21st birthday when [View Full Entry]

Well after spending 4 hours on the bus from Phnom Penh thinking about various things in life including my last blog it was time to hit Sihanoukville as part of our journey back to Pattaya along the coast. After arriving at the bus station it was the usual Tuk Tuk and motorcycle madness of people wanting your business and money. We headed off to Serendipity beach area to look for a guest house or bungalow with that taken care of it was time to go the beach for some food. The next day was very chilled out compared to the last [View Full Entry]
