So we are writing it from home. So our last days in Lima were a bit of a tired blur. Very large and crowded city but we were staying in a nice little hostel in a suburb near the beach with a friendly greeting dog.Day one was spent relaxing and repacking which is when Justin found out his phone was stolen http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Peru/Lima/Lima/Lima/blog-419169.html Bolivia extravaganza After our amazing journey through the Lares Valley to Machu Picchu we made our way to La Paz Bolivia. The first day Justin was not feeling well so we spent the entire day at our hostel relaxing and trying to feel better. The next day we took a bus to Lake Titicaca which is about 3 and a half hours from La Paz. We were a bit confused as we had to get off the bus and then take a little boat http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Bolivia/La-Paz-Department/La-Paz/blog-417520.html Peru and Machu Picchu Trek Since our last blog we have been experiencing Peru which has been very incredible. We flew into Cusco via Lima which was a very scenic flight along the Andes and were greeted for the first time by a ride from the airport. We felt a bit like rock stars at least until we had to help push our broken down transportation. We had to pay and have a briefing for our trek into Machu Picchu as soon http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Peru/Cusco/Lares-Trek/blog-415904.html Iguazu Falls and last night in BA Well we are back in Buenos Aires again for our final night and are heading to Peru tomorrow. We have been in Puerto Iguazu Argentina the last couple of days visiting Iguazu Falls. We arrived on Saturday and checked out the small town there. It is incredibly different from BA lots of trees no pollution and a slower pace of life. Yesterday we spent most of the day visiting the falls and wal http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Argentina/Buenos-Aires/Buenos-Aires/blog-413498.html Colonia Uruguay and Buenos Aires contd... Justin turned 32 in Buenos Aires and we had a nice day and met some nice people. Jasmine may have celebrated a bit too much so we ended up missing out on a birthday dinner. On June 24th we went to the Malba Museum of modern art which was cool. We then went to the Puerto Madero area to wait for our boat ride to Colonia Uruguay. While waiting we were able to watch the USs epic upset of the http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Uruguay/West/Colonia-del-Sacramento/blog-412556.html Buenos Aires and Happy Birthday Justin We have been in Buenos Aires since Saturday. Weve mostly been walking around and getting a feel for the city. It is broken up into different neighborhoods each with its own character and we have managed to visit most of them. On Sunday we went to Recoleta and walked through the market and then through the cemetery where Evitas grave is located. We also went to a Boca Juniors soccer game. http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Argentina/Buenos-Aires/Buenos-Aires/blog-411518.html Mendozawhy are we in a paddy wagon Hola allWell we had a great day of relaxation yesterday. We got caught up on sleep took a great jacuzzi and had a good pasta meal. Very nice. Today was a very different story. In case you are wondering why we rode in the back of a police car we shall tell you in a bit but first our plan today was to rent bikes and visit the vineyards. Plans do not always work out. We got our ride to Maip http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Argentina/Mendoza/Mendoza/blog-410334.html Mendoza We now speak fluent Spanish...or maybe not. We did take three days of intensive lessons our brains now hurt. Valparaiso is a very beautiful city especially when it is sunny instead of rainy. It is right on the ocean and is very hilly muchas cerros a bit reminiscient of the bay area in California. We stayed at a great little bed and breakfast La Nona very friendly very helpful. We also had a couple of good traditional Chilean meals beefsteak sandwich with greenbeans and tomat http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Chile/Valparaiso-Region/Valparaiso/blog-408581.html Santiago arrival Just arrived in Santiago Chile after a long day of travel. Denver to Toronto to Santiago. A bit of a mix up as our hotel had us getting in at a different time so we got to wait and be harrassed by taxi drivers for two hours in the airport Our driver was very nice a bit of a language gap Justin practiced his spanish and proved to have a lot to learn. Have not seen much of the city yet http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Chile/Santiago-Region/Santiago/blog-407305.html
