So last weekend I decided, on a whim, that I wanted to go to Japan. Now I've been saving for a trip to Europe next year, but I really need a break from work. So, after making a joke with some friends about flying over to Japan to check out the premiere of a new movie, I found that the flights were very reasonable. I went ahead and booked the flight, booked a Hostel, then asked for time off work. Little backwards eh? I'm leaving April 16th for 10 days, although I lose a day or two in travel... oh well. My last day in Seattle, Dave had to go back to work, so Jeremy planned for a few hours on Lake Washington. So I get a call around 11:30 or so saying that he's headed over. I finish getting most of my stuff packed, since I have to leave Daves around 4:30ish to get to the Airport on time. Carina comes along since Dave is at work, and we head to Jeremys parents house. After we remove the tarp from the boat, we realize it needs a little cleaning, so we quickly get to it, clean up, hook up, and go [View Full Entry]

A Beer, Friends and a Boat

Wow... I don't even know what to say about this. We did a 4 mile trek up a mountain, at the top was the most beautiful lake called Melakwa Lake.  Melakwa stands for Mosquito, luckily for me I didn't see any, must've been a little chilly for them.  We picked a spot under some trees to have a little picnic as it started raining. Oh man... this was just it!! So peaceful and serene, cool, beautiful, ice still floating in the lake... it was just amazing! Then fog, or clouds, just starting rolling in across the lake, we just watched it [View Full Entry]

The Hikers
Cheeese
Along the trail

We start the day off rolling into downtown Seattle, and park right outside of Vons (which is a local bar & restaurant with bad reviews) where Dave has a friend Scott that runs a Coffee Stand. Scott hooks us up with some of the best coffee I've ever had, and just kicks back chatting with us for a good 30 minutes or so. Everyone seems so friendly out here, like they all have time for you, maybe this is an illusion, but it's kinda cool, a sharp contrast from the people in Vegas. Next door to Scott’s coffee cart was a [View Full Entry]

Safeco Field
The City
Sunset

A little background on this trip. One of my best friends, Dave, and his wife Carina had come down to Las Vegas for my wedding that never happened (a whole other story!). After a week and a half of partying hard with them, I decided I'd take the time and money I'd put away for the honeymoon on a little holiday, and go back to Seattle, Washington, with them. So I did. Please keep in mind, I've been stuck in a desert for 7 years by this time, the color green was but a distant memory. The following has been extracted [View Full Entry]
