Enjoying yo Blog!
Hey girl! Love the honesty of your blog. We've all been at the perfomance, or the bus, or the whatever...felt the hard wooden bench..the drowsiness...and all of a sudden there is a special something that happens and makes it all worth while! Making Memories is a baffling process!

feel like I am with you all
Today recieved entries through July 5 (by the way, I am receiving them twice...maybe I am listed with two emails; if so, you only need lynj@me.com). I love reading about your adventures, especailly in the two, very disticnt and different voices. I learn from Sasha about the day-to-day, which is fascinating, and from Penny, I feel like I'm on a spiritual journey. You are both beautiful and compelling writers. Can't wait to hear more.

By the time we were dressed and on the boards, it was pitch dark and mom was breathing heavily at the peak of the "'cano," not wanting to look at us decent. And Shaun and I were too distracted to take photos while we were going down...and trying not to start tumbling ourselves! :)

nostalgia
thanks for uploading all these photos and the travel blog, it took me back to my childhood when I was in Galle, the time of the 'esala' festival in Unawatuna. Good to hear you enjoyed your stay in Unawatuna, my favourite place in the whole world :)

Love it!
Hi guys (or I should say the Goodfriend girls); Thank you very Sasha, I felt I was there with you guys. So I assume the elephants were fooled by the non-functioning electric fence. They have very smart elephants in Sri Lanka. What did you cook Sasha? Any good recepes to share? A friend of mine just returned from Sri Lanka and it seems that it is a favored destination among Jordanians (I cant say the same about Kuwait, especially in the summer). So, inshallah, we'll hook up in NY this fall. By the way, other similar words are: Bukra, which means tomorrow; and Malesh, which means: it's ok. Therefore we give the three words the acronym: IBM.

Sounds very interesting
Hi Sasha, I have enjoyed reading about your trip, particularly the impressions of Kuwait! Sounds like you and your mom had a good time and I guess you are now off to college. Is it Boston you are going to? Couldn't remember exactly. Tell your family I said hello and I will e mail your mom soon. I have some books to recommend to her. Louise

Good to finally hear from you guys
This afternoon I received 9 e-mails from you, right in a row; my BlackBerry was going crazy! I had thought that I hadn't signed up correctly, because I hadn't received any e-mails. Trip sounds amazing! I know you'll be home soon - Penny, call me when you can. I want to see all the photos and hear more of your story. I'll be leaving town on the 20th for 10 days.

not as exciting?
sasha, you are an incredible writer. the reader gets to feel as if they are on your trip too. i get my daily exercise just reading what you've been doing. loved the phrasing, "it is impressive how quickly the next moment eclipses the last"....but if it's not quite as exciting as previous trips, then my goodness, what incredible experiences you must have. i can already envision your college essay!

sasha
*Angry, obstinate, obdurate, proud, frank speaking, and a hard worker by nature. well, you can be 'angry' per say... not in a crazy hectic way, but in the way that makes u long for change, and which empowers you. you couldd say you are angry with some of the things in this world... it's a possibility

feel like i'm there, well, almost
your trip sounds utterly amazing. aside from the great adventure of seeing such a remote part of the world, i envy the bond you too must be forming as you trek around the world. penny, am so glad to hear about your hair growth spurt. and sasha, you write beautifully. you absolutely should publish this log....and writing a book..think how colleges would view that!!!! sorry....am thinking too far ahead. enjoy this spiritual journey, and please keep on writing. xxx

No blog blues
Hi Sasha and Penny - I've been enjoying your unfurling saga....and I'm so proud (and in awe) of you two. You are my heroes. I need a blog fix, and I'm hoping that one is coming soon. I can't wait to hear more about your travels when we spend time together on Fire Island in a couple of weeks. Miss you so much! Denise
