In the morning we opened our Christmas presents from Santa. After lunch we went skiing and did three runs. Then we opened our presents from everyone else. We had a big Christmas dinner. Big Sarah and Evin came for dinner too. Sarah is an old friend of Mum and Dad’s who married Evin and moved to Colorado, America. Evin is an American ski patroller who has been on exchange to Falls Creek.... read more

We got up really early to race our cousins to Breckenridge. It was so cold in the morning that Mum's wet hair froze while we walked out to the car. It was a two hour drive and we met our cousins at 9am at the house we had rented. We met my Dad’s sister Aunty Jill and Uncle Bernard with their four kids – Sally, Tom, Richard and Annabelle. Everyone went shopping except Jimmy, Bernard and I. We went for a swim in the outdoor hot tub. Bernard threw snow at us in the hot tub. The water in the hot tub was 40 degrees Celsius.... read more

On Thursday we got up early. The seats were freezing in the car and it was minus 8 degrees farenheit (minus 22 degrees celsius). We drove through the snowy mountains and we had to go very slow so that we didn't slide off the road. There were lots of tunnels through the mountains.... read more

In the morning we drove out of Moab through the red rocks to Mesa Verde National Park. Hundreds of years ago the American Indians used to live there and made houses out of mud and rock under the cliffs. They made special underground family rooms that you had to climb down a ladder into. They were very dark. They watched their wheat grow on top of the cliffs. Next we drove to Durango. After dinner we went on the Polar Express. The Polar Express is based on a book about a boy who hops on a train on Christmas Eve and goes to the North Pole and gets the first present for the year. We hopped on a train and rode through the snow to the North Pole. The chef got us hot chocolate and biscuits ... read more

On Sunday when we started driving Daddy was driving on the wrong side of the road and three cars were driving at him. Daddy drove into the petrol station to get out of the way. We drove through the desert and we saw rocks. It was very cold and some of the rocks had snow on them. We stayed in Moab for the night.... read more
