The Bahamas were so much fun! I was greeted at the airport by Alex and Katie. We looked worlds apart, them in nice clothes, good hair and Katie in a cool blonde wig and me in my messy travel clothes, bad hair and with a big heavy backpack. We stopped the taxi to get pizza then proceeded to our hotel. Pizza/pasta could in fact be the theme of this section of my travels! So I guess my time in Honduras is coming to an end. Wednesday was my last day of teaching. The actual Honduran English teacher called Diana was away so i took all the classes totally on my own. I guess i'm on my own most of the time anyway because Diana always tends to leave the lesson....but usually i'm with one other English person! Sooo, last week was Samana Santa, Easter week. Quite a big thing this section of the world. Basically, it sucked because everything was closed the whole time. Even our beloved internet cafe! (Mind you it did open once or twice). I've become an avid reader within the past week. I finished my book and swapped with Gaelyn. Now i'm reading ''A Walk In The Woods" which is pretty funny. Ok so last week a group of us headed to Utila to do some beachy stuff. A nice break from teaching/building! The journey was pretty epic. Loooong! The coaches were ok i guess but the boat was just a joke. So rocky! I felt ill the whole way there and got soaked. Completely soaked! Utila itself was amazing. White sand, lots of sun, great food. We went kayaking from a lagoon through mangroves to a beach. The mangroves were pretty gross. They smell like eggs and are muddy and shallow so tricky to row through. Another tough week of teaching and building. I've been lifting heavy bricks and carrying broken adobes up and down hills. Plus making mud as cement and digging a big trench type thing around the house. I ought to have huge muscles by the end of this trip! I've fallen in love with bananas. They're 1 lemp each and give lots of energy. The other good snack food however is biscuits. Yum yum. The kids are really cute. This weekend a big group of us went down to the lake to have some fun. There was a huuuuge waterfall that you can walk under. We had been warned that it would be really hard to see and to breathe but this didn't deter us...we went anyway! Health and safety is basically non-existant over here, (or if it's not, it may as well be!) but I think we were fairly safe...ish! First a quick bit about Miami...baaasically it was really really fun. They all live in really cool places and there are loads of cool places, and trees. I like the trees. Aunty Lilian's party was really nice and the food was good (of course). On Sunday she took me shopping and bought me too much stuff so now my bag is heavy. I arrived in Miami at 2am a day late. (It's complicated, don't ask!) Dad had told Lisa and Brian (who i'm staying with) that i would be wearing a red jumper. The thing is, they don't say jumper over here and so they assumed i'd be wearing a jumpsuit! If that's not bad enough, dad had told them that i'd probably be too hot so it'd be tied around my waist which would just be weird! So yeah. My bag was really heavy and i was way too hot.
