Can't wait to see you in person! - From: Easter, no lights, and coming home
I am playing catch up too and just reading your latest blogs. I can't believe your adventure in Africa is coming to a close but I know that those of us that love you here in the U.S. will be happy to have you home. Johnny and Rayna had a new baby boy, Cash Walker on April 20th. I am looking forward to meeting him this weekend. That makes #9 (is that enough for a football team?) I love you Sarah.

Africa is my next dream destination (I'm currently in Mongolia) and I really enjoyed your account of shop life. It's too bad business has suffered, I hope things change to give local shop owners some more income. Thanks for the read! :-)

Ejisu - From: Emmanuel's Gift
Very cool, Scott. The goodwill towards Ghana continues. Ejisu is a town we always passed through on our way to Kumasi. I'm excited to hear all that Nelsen and Renton have been able to accomplish this year. Thanks for being the leader!!!

I love the pictures - From: Finally...pictures!!!
Sarah, I love your pictures. I need to figure out a way to share mine with you guys. Life sounds just how I remember it, though now that I'm out of the environment, it sounds so foreign. I miss it. But things are good at home. I'm proposing on Friday and will send you and Katy a wedding announcement. Tell everyone hi for me.

Emmanuel - From: Emmanuel's Gift
What an opportunity, Sarah! Say "Hi" to Emmanuel from Nelsen if you get to see him. On Friday, Feb. 15 the chief of the Mo tribe in Northwest Ghana will visit our school. We are collecting supplies to add to a container that is going to that area of Ghana and also to Ejisu, where a man named Kojo Fordjour is starting a library. On the wheelchair drive, we just got a matching grant set up, so we hope to meet our goal by 2/15 - we've got about $8,000 to go, so we're hopeful. Students are doing a coin drive on the 14th and 15th, too. If anyone wants to check out the cool $50 wheelchair (or donate), they can access info from the Nelsen Middle School website. I loved the soccer story - Take Care - Scott

No Worries - From: The Chief has died (?)
Hi Sarah, The thing about an extra head being needed before the announcement of the chiefs death is true. Don't fret too much though. "The Gods" don't want a white persons head. If you were black and a "visitor" to Ejura you would have reason to worry. So rest assured and thank God He didn't make you with black skin! Christine

Wheelchairs!!! - From: Raise Up! Wheelchair Project
That's fantastic, Scott! Thanks for keeping me posted! I have seen several of the "tricycle" wheelchairs around lately, and they are so difficult for people to manage (they pedal with their hands). The terrain here is definitely NOT wheelchair-friendly. Amazing how much money was raised in a week! Go Wendy!!! Hope the speaker is great and the evening's events go well. Thanks!

Over 100 wheelchairs going to Ghana - From: Raise Up! Wheelchair Project
Sarah - Nelsen students did a coin drive last week and raised $1,150 ($650 from Wendy Collins' class alone!). So we're up to over $5,000 or 100 wheelchairs. Tomorrow's the big day when Don, the inventor of the wheelchair, visits Nelsen to meet with the students at lunch time, teach a science class, and speak to students, parents, and community in the evening after pizza and Starbucks. It should be very exciting. I'll let you know how it goes. Take care, Scott

Hi Sarah - From: A ping pong table and a Ghanian wedding
Hi Sarah, I read your blog and I have tears in my eyes. I was in Accra, Ghana & returned on Nov.@. I was there a month and it was so awesome. I had been communicating with a civil engineer from Accra over the past several months and he really wanted me to come visit. So I traveled with 2 missionary friends of mine that have known him for years. Needless to say, the people are so warm and friendly. He took me around and introduced me to everyone and people came to the house to meet me...everyone expecting my arrival. We were married on Friday, October 26. NOW, trying to get a visa for him to come to USA.We want to go back and forth so he can continue to work for his company. He oversees the building of the roads, bridges and highways in the whole country of Ghana. Our wedding was beautiful and I am so sad to be back in usa. Stay in touch me with if you would....God Bless you & keep you safe, Lois Ansu

school uniforms - From: Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi Natasha!!! Yes, the students are required to wear uniforms. I think you would like them - the shirts are pink! Even the boys wear pink! The boys wear black shorts and the girls wear black skirts. If a student is new from another school, they usually wear their old uniform, so there are lots of different kinds of uniforms worn at the school, but the pink and black is the official one for our school. What do you think about that??? =)

Your blog is on my little list of blogs that I check on regularly. It's fun to read yours and my sister's and compare how things are alike and how they are different. It's funny to hear your stories about the time issue because she says the exact same thing! It doesn' t matter where you are in Africa, time is just different there!

Great blog - From: A ping pong table and a Ghanian wedding
Hello, I have reading your blogs and is very interesting. I bet you are having a lot of un learning about the Ghanian culture and way of life. I especially like the stories about the tree farmer. To my knowledge, most Ghanian men keep their dialogues to a mininimum and show their affection through gifts and what they have. Keep writing and enjoy the rest of your time.

care package ideas - From: brokedown tro-tro and an armed robbery
Any type of news source would be appreciated. Magazines, for sure. Chewy candies, like gummies, go over well, too. Crystal light "to go" has been a welcome addition to the plastic bag water. Bars of antibacterial soap and hand santizer, too, would be welcome. Beef jerky, protein bars, any type of protein... =)

broke-ass tro-tro - From: brokedown tro-tro and an armed robbery
hey sista! I felt so bad yesterday when you called and we were all hanging out together. We certainly missed having you around. Dylaney couldn't figure out where you were. We tried showing her the globe, which she immediately put in her mouth, all the while looking confused as your mom tried to explain the finer points of international travel. Then she asked if we all wanted to go on an airplane to visit Uncle Grant :) It certainly sounds like you're doing well with the gentlemen there in Ghana :) Nice work. Find a rich guy and bring him home with you! Thinking of you, Ronda

You are really living through an adventure of a lifetime. I anxiously await reading each blog both to share a little of your experience and to know that you are doing well. I am glad to hear that you have made some friends. They seem to be a comfort to you during this time of adjustment. Little Robert is doing well. He is off the charts in weight and height and was referred to as a little bruiser by the nurse who gave him his shots. I will send pics soon. Luv Marie

Hey Sarah! So glad to know you made it and hear about your adventures so far. I am anxiously awaiting pictures and more stories to come. Not a whole lot new here.
