Having just returned from the WTM it was comforting to know that the many exhibitors from all around the globe and my fellow competitors feel optimistic about travel, despite the credit crunch. We appear to all be looking ahead to the 2009 season with caution but enthusiasm, as it is thought that holidays will be taken wherever possible to escape the doom and gloom in Britain. Would you tend to agree, cut your capacity but keep all options open, it will be a “late” market but people will still take a holiday? And during a quick nip to the loo, who should I bump into (literally) coming out of a cubicle, none other than Danni Minogue, she is tiny but stunning! Thoughts on Take Off? Please fasten your seatbelt and ensure your tray table is secure”. Finding myself on yet another flight to Europe I relax back on my headrest and experience the judder of the Boeing 737 as it thunders down the runway. And as the flight falls quiet as we surge into the air I wonder what thoughts are going through fellow passengers minds…….. The lady opposite has her head buried in the latest novel (no doubt picked up in the airport as she is only on page 4), probably taking advantage of a little “me time”.......... In the row to the side is a young couple, (white knuckle riders) poor lass she is obviously petrified of flying ............
