Today I arrived in Singapore in the morning, I was meeting my brother Oliver the next day so he said I should stay in the same hotel he had booked for us for the next day it was quite difficult to check in as I needed to pay a deposit which was more than I had, even my full days withdrawal limit from my bank card would not cover it so i had to contact Oliver and have him fax his credit card over to the hotel...thankfully it was only 3am in the UK so he was still at work. After checking in I took a walk and found there was an open top tour bus i could take around the city, generally the city looks very clean and modern although there are some very nice ... read more

Today I took the plane from Siem Reap to Kuala Lumpur, it was kind of annoying as my bag weight was 25kg the limit was 15kg so i had to transfer some things from my checked in bag to my hand luggage, who would choose to fly eh? Once I was in Kuala Lumpur I took a wonder around the town alittle bit, I was in China town so was able to get some nice cheapish food. After that I took a walk to a large observation tower which is in the middle of park in the center of the town…it is the 4th largest Communication towers in the world behind Canada's CN Tower(Visited), Moscow's Ostankino Tower and The Pearl TV Tower in Shanghai (Visited) if only I had realised the one in Moscow was so ... read more

Today I travelled back to Siem Reap as I was going to take the plane from the Siem Reap airport, which is the main one in Cambodia...it had cheaper flights than Phnom Penh and the bus only cost $6 to get back there. During the day i met up with my friends and we went to a lake with a small island which had a small temple and a crocodile farm on it.... read more

Today i was alot more tired hat i thought and I slept till late, once i was awake i hired a bike from the hotel and decided to take a ride around Phnom Penh...it seems the city is poorer than Siem Reap maybe because of a much lower number of tourists in this town. there seems to be quite afew temples in Phnom Penh although none are as old as those in the Angkor area. There are quite afew beggars here some with no arms etc, something that I did not see much of in Siem Reap. There are alot of Buddhist monks in this town. I think that Phnom Penh is the least developed capitol city i have ever visited but it seems there is at least a little amount of construction work s maybe ... read more

Today I met up with Murt and her friend in the morning, we first went to visit a floating village which is a village full of houseboats on a lake about 10km outside of siem reap it is quite an interesting place and to me it seems strange that people would choose to live there. We went for dinner in a western style restaurant which I think was a very special thing for the girls. Neither of the girls really knows how to read English and the menu was only in English…Murt says her friend cannot even read Cambodian. Whilst eating I realized neither of them used knives and forks or chopsticks at home as they were both struggling with these strangely advanced tools. In the afternoon we went to a market in the town, which ... read more

Today we are going to Angkor which is the temple complex near the city of siem reap, the complex is huge and is much more than you could explore in one day so we have decided to just see the main things. The first temple we are going to visit is Angkor Wat, it is the most famous and the oldest of the temples in the area…it was built to celebrate a Cambodian victory in Delhi and is nearly 900 years old. To explore the area we hired a Tuk Tuk with a driver from the hotel he charged $15 for the full day, once we got to the temple there were lots of girls selling things like hats, water, guide books…I asked to buy a guide book from a girl if she would come and ... read more
