Konichiwa from Far North Japan!!! Hokkaido in Springtime has proven to be somewhat colder than back in Oz! But beautiful neverthless. We've been here for almost 2 months now, and the change has been quite dramatic. When we arrived there was still meters of snow on the ground and training on the river in sub-zero temperatures was certainly 'refreshing'!! Now though, we're having some sunny days and are eagerly anticipating warmer weather. We MUST have acclimatised, as we're finding ourselves comfortably in T-Shirts on balmy 16 degree days! We've been taking customers down the Summer Course of the river for about a month now. Generally, we take six or seven 16-year-old Japanese kids who are on school camp in Hokkaido. Generally, they are cheeky, disobedient and very VERY crap at paddling! Our Nihongo is steadily improving
