Great New Look Shaun, love the headgear and the chilled out new look - A bit loke the sixties flower power ( you wouldn't remember this of course ),Loved the pic of you on the bike!
Wow trip of a lifetime Hi Shaun it's definitely one of those, "wish i was there" it looks absolutely beautiful and you look like you fit in too !
Very spiritual and the buildings and scenery look fantastic. Hope you have a fab time - will check in on your blogs - take care and wishing you a safe time in Thailand. How long are you out there for ? Deirdre x
Eureka Blimey - it's taken me this long to access your blog - operator trouble my end ... anyway ... "wow" about sums up what I'm seeing via the photos - somehow asking to be sent back a stick of rock doesn't quite equate with the whole environment you're experiencing ... and am I jealous?!!!!!!!!! Never!!!!! Stay safe and keep enjoying :)
Looks Fantastic Hey really looks amazing....and I'm not talking about the new outfit!! Can't wait to come over ..finding it hard to concentrate on work!!xx
Volunteer placement Hi Helen,
I am glad that you are injoying the updates. It is a big responsibility to make sure that I have a great experience every day or else I would have nothing yo report! But I think the effort is worthwhile as it is very rewarding to be able to share my experiences when I am travelling alone.
The first part of my placement will be at Phu Wua nature reserve in NE Thailand (Isaan Area).
I have not yet commited to the 2nd part, but will brobobly go to Laos near to Vientiane, another Eco Tourism project.
If you send me Sacha & Lex's email addresses, I will add them to the subscribers list. Give everyone my best wishes.
Cheers

Rice with every meal! Hi Gary, I have to confess that I had fried eggs, toast, marmalaide & coffe for breakfast for the last couple of days. I know it's cheating, but It will be rice for every meal once I get to my volunteer placement on the 8th Feb.
Cheers
Shaun
Internet Access Hi Jacek, I hope that you are all well.
I have my own computor with me which I either use through a wireless conection - if available, or via an internet cafe, which costs around 30 baht /hr (50p). Internet cafe's are plentiful, so if it wasn't for the fact that I will need my laptop for my volunteer work, I would have been better to have left it at home.
Give my love to Ewa & the kids.
All the best
Shaun
Temple Tiger You fit well within the temple ambience, great big cats' video but couldn't open the puppet show...Only 10 days to the beginning of The Year of the Rat - get ready for the celebrations!
Jan 28th Hi Shaun, its so much fun checking out what you are up to, it really looks like a trip of a lifetime....and brightens my day given its minus 30 and only light for about 6 h a day! So where are you going for your placement and what will you be doing....I was showing the tiger shots to Sacha and lex and didn't know what you hadn't settled on.
Tigers hi Shaun. We are really enjoying your journal. Thats a lot of Km on small bike, not what your used to. The Tiger temple looks amazing, obviously well fed....Do they lose many visitors.. Bye
It is now time for a new adventure. This time I have decided to raise money for Willen Hospice in Milton Keynes.
The plan is to ride 2,500km through the Western Ghats of India, starting in Goa, and ridding through Karnataca, Kerala and Tamal Nardu. We will be steering clear of main roads and using local trails as far as possible and hope to find some unusual off the beaten track places.
If you enjoy my blog, please make a donation at: http://www.justgiving.com/Shaun-Toms
The trip is funded by myself so all proceeds will go to Willen Hospice.... full info
