The Greek Isles / Aegean Sea.... What a fabulous part of the world to visit.... What a SHITHOLE of a dumping ground for peoples crap... Recycling WTF!!! If it floats, you shall see it in the Aegean Sea, If it sinks, you shall still see it in the Aegean Sea, cos the water is soooooo clear!!!! Ironically though, they have a battery recycling bin in the WC at the Mykonos Harbour.... That's cool, but what about all the other trash???? Well here we are on the "party" or is it "parting" island of Mykonos.... An evening meal at the Matthew Tavern overlooking the New Port we are moored in, exchanging stories of our adventure and recapping on wonderful moments - Our skipper claiming this was the best group she has sailed with - A few rounds ... read more

Howdy Y'All.... Here in beautiful down town Syros.... It is easy to see why the majic of this place draws people in from all over the world.... Blue skies, warm sun, deep blue oceans, clean air and a relaxing atmosphere that is just paradise.... Every day is full of new things to see, people to interact with, places that move a different pace to the one that we are accostomed to... The people I am sailing with are just faboulos - we have bonded really well and thoroughly enjoy each others company.... I slept in this morning until 8.30 (WTF)!!! Sherri had to give me a poke last night, cos I was snoring so loud - but that was justifyable payback from her previous nights performance.... Sailing out on crystal clear deep blue seas, magnificent views of Athens fading away over the horizon.... First Isle is Aegina, Beautiful island / Marina and a great local meal topped off a great day - calm waters in the harbour, drinks and chatter before retiring into a blissful nights sleep.... 2nd stop - Sounion Ruins... Athens...Well after a huge day of transit through Austria & Germany (6 trains one plane and a Psycho taxi ride) I am here.... You know when you are in a deeply religious city, when you get into a cab at the airport (A F&^%$g SKODA) - I thought they only used these things for boat anchors!!! This thing had more friggin shakes than a McDonalds store on a Bloody McHappy day!!! Especially when the driver hammered on down the freeway at 150kph using every lane including the emergency lane, no indicators etc.... Yep this bloke had to have a great deal of faith in God (I have now too).... Spent the next day doing the sights of Athens - An incredible place with real history you have to actually see and feel to fully appreciate it... ... read more

Melk - What an incredible town - truely just like something out of a storybook - Benedictine Monestry I have video and heaps of photos of this magnificent building that was first started around 1000bc.. People devoted the whole of their lifetimes in constructing it and sadly never got to see the end result that we get today... Totally marvelled at the precision of every line, sphere, curves etc... No modern tooling, yet perfection and meticulous workmanship that has been built to stand for many more centuries.... You note that all of these fabulous structures are perched atop of the steepest locations, great for detering invaders, but really crap for tourist access (Talk about bad forward planning - they should have given us some consideration when they started these things 1000 years ago).... Out of Melk ... read more
