Me and Dolon visited the Grand Canyon on the 29th and 30th of May,2006.It was a much awaited and a distant wish to visit the natural wonder. This was also a trip that combined our exhilerating experience at Las Vegas,Nevada. We made a quick decision to visit Vegas and G.C while I was working at North Carolina. It was the coming of a long week end (Don't remember which one) and we wanted to visit some place beyond the East Coast.Las Vegas was the one that seemed most exciting. We took a flight to Atlanta and then a 4 hour flight to Las Vegas.More on Vegas on my next blog! We rented a Chrysler PT from our hotel in Vegas and drove down to a town called Williams. The road trip was quite an experience. In fact I had never ... read more

If you come to America, you should be destined to see the Niagra Falls.Without much a say,it is inevitably the most beautiful romantic wonder. We,a group of friends, decided to take a road trip from a much populated New Jersey through the calm serenity of New York state to Niagra at Buffalo.I remember it was a overnight trip, least to say we lost our directions in New Jersey and reached Buffalo at sun rise.We stayed in a small motel and took a nap. While we parked our car at the parking lot in Buffalo,I saw some tall buildings from the 3 storied parking plaza and on close inspection I read CANADA on one of the tall towers. Now imagine standing on American soil,so far no view of the falls and in less than a mile you see buildings that belong to ... read more

'The Big Apple','Capital of the World','A City that never sleeps','The Empire State' and 'Broadway Manhattan' are the depictions made in several movies, soaps and braggadoccio's of New Yorkers. If you believe that man is the greatest creator, come to New York. When me and my wife stepped out of the Penn station on the 33rd street,we could only find ourselves in an amazing world of sky scrapers, millions of people of different countries walking briskly and the bustling sounds of cars (and cops alike) wading through the streets of Manhattan. You are suddenly enclosed in a world that seems utopian and not American. If you keep looking up,you will surely tumble because the sky scrapers surround you,so tall that they look curved. As you walk from 33rd to 37th street on 5th Av,you will notice a sign that reads 'The Empire State Building'.Look ... read more

If someone asks me what it feels like to be in the capital of a great country like USA,my answer would be towards 'Gardens and Museums'.Ofcourse needless to say one can not ignore the popularity of the White House,Capital Hill and Pentagon, but what is not widely advertised is that DC houses some of the finest Museums.A visit to the Smithsonians is worth its adoration. If you are a history buff visit the Smithsonian Museum of Natural Art and History. It speaks of civilizations of different eras, right from Pre-Historic to Mesozoic to Modern Medieval. You will find a culmination of world history-from Indus to Egyptian and from Mayan to Roman. For those Zoologists and kids alike there are Dinosaurs, stuffed mammals and animal kingdom dazing at you in its truest manifestation. But most of all and I believe the biggest attraction in ... read more

I work in the very beautiful town of Chapel Hill, located midway between Duke University and University of North Carolina,Chapel Hill. The place is a vibrant mix of Ivy league students and Corporate crowd.I work with Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance, that has 6 offices in Chapel Hill.Probably Chapel Hill is a near ideal location that offers you a relaxed life, best places to study, large corporate offices like IBM and Cisco, lotsa excellent eateries and most of all a mild climate the year round. The people, the Southeners, are very warm and kind. They are courteous and friendly too.I love working with the people here and so far each person has been nice to me and very welcoming and more so,the ladies here complete their phrase with a 'hun !' that makes you feel special. Chapel Hill will delight you the year round with ... read more

I am living in Somerville since March,2005. It is a beautiful place with a nice little downtown. The downtown is a mile off our house.I occassionaly walk to the downtown to grab a coffee and bagel. The downtown, though small, has an eclectic mix of eateries and cafe's from across the world that makes the Downtown vibrant and multi-cultural.The downtown has an old Church and a Court house. We also have the Somerville Middle School and the High School, that is opposite our house. During summer and spring I love to go for a brisk walk or a jog around the High School Track. It is also the time when the schools have their football matches. For quite some time I have been an avid spectator of these matches, from my kitchen window. We have friends in and around Somerville and our Fridays are ... read more
