A boat ride to Hellbrun We took a river ride up the Sachen to Hellbrun, a pleasure palace built by an Archbishop of Salzburg for his mistress who had more than 10 children by him. Part of the Sound of Music was filmed at this estate in the gardens and in the Gazebo. STIEGL! We arrived in Salzburg to an above-average warm streak. The day was absolutely perfect for wandering through the narrow old streets. We walked up to the fortress where the Archbishop lived in protected luxury while the peasants toiled in the hot fields and the mines and drank stiegl beer (sehrgodt!) at night just like Patricia and I. We will be heading up to the Hellbrun Pleasure Palace (strictly legit I swear) tomorrow on the river boat. One more day here before moving on to Vienna. [View Full Entry]

FIRST CLASS! Do you believe it? The plane was oversold, so we were bumped into First Class - what a way to fly!! We were well fed (too much) and we had our own personal video screens. Just like sleeping in a comfy recliner. We arrived on time, and made it to our hotel to find that (again) we were upgraded to the Regents Club level. We just finished our wonderful breakfast (with cappucino) and now we're headed out on the town. We'll fly to Salsburg tomorrow very early in the morning. The PRODUCERS! Greetings to you'all! We have added your email addresses to our travel log. We hope to drop by the european internet cafes we encounter and add more comments as we travel. We are leaving in just a few hours for our 3 week trip...starting in London and moving on to Salzbuurg, Vienna, Budapest, Krakow, Prague, and Cesky Krumlov.
