Hope you had fun - From: "A house doesn't make a home..."
Hi Roxy, I stumbled across your blog when I was looking for something else, but I'm from Cork city and would just like to say I'm glad you had a good time around here. You're welcome back any time. Nice photos...I've a bunch from a trip we took to Sherkin here if you wanna see (http://rennes.ucc.ie/~stephenf/photos/Sherkin_Island/index.html). You can ignore the daft ones! More random photos from me from around Cork here too (www.image-shop.com). you might spot some places you've been to. There's even a photo or 2 from Philly too! Slan Leat Steve

Hey the photos look great. Very talented... I have yet to see New York. I'll have a chance this November if finances are good. My family ie. mom, brother, sis-in-law, aunt, uncle & cousins on my moms side are all having Thanksgiving in Hershey PA. There has been some talk of seeing New York, but we'll see....It might be a bit pricing for Justin and I to fly to DC this year, and do the whole vacation thing. Who knows?? My brother and his wife are stationed in DC. He's a Lt at the Naval hospital there.

Hey! I was wondering if you were still around. NY is a cool place, I've been up there a couple times. Sounds like you had a blast. Call me! I might be in your neck of the woods soon.

Animal Soup - From: Live and Let Live!
Love the animal pics, Buffalo tastes really good and makes great Teepees. I thought all of the animals are green in Ireland, that's how they survived extinction from the Ice Age and Neolithic Man, by being camoflaged in the verdant Irish countryside. I have a Peacock living next to me and I wish he was like a mobile/wireless phone so could change his ringtone to a more gentle sound at daybreak!

Honestly, don't worry about it - From: WHAT TO DO
you aren't missing to much by never going camping, in my opinion, anyhow--for me, camping sucks: I hate sleeping with nothing but a glorified tarp keeping me safe from evil bugs carrying the West Nile virus, starving bears and deers, and the hard rocky ground beneath me. Not to mention substandard showering/bathroom facilities. Maybe its different in Ireland, I don't know. What are you up to? I miss your blogs! Love ya, Jeanine - Jeanine

I really like your "smell journal". . . - From: Ooh, ooh that smell...can't you smell that smell?
I just re-read your entry for the 2nd time; it's so interesting how words can evoke a memory of such primal sense, how it can make you virtually hallucinate a feeling. . . .write more for your curious readers!!! - Jeanine

But c'mon now, admit it - From: Ooh, ooh that smell...can't you smell that smell?
don't you miss that first dark morning sunrise drag of smoke, the acrid smell of burning tobacco stinging your nostrils, speaking in touch of something so weary but so full of promise? Sike. God bless you; both me & Gene are trying to quit smoking right now, or at least he is. I hope you know that I am so inspired by your blog entries and pictures that I am planning to copy you by creating a web page on Gene's web site with our pics and my journal entries from our Midwest trip. . . keep up the good work, and please get a new Nikon; I was really starting to enjoy your pictures!!!!! - Jeanine

Can't see any of your pics - From: 2 months left in Ireland
on my roommate's computer because it's so overwhelmed with ironically HER pictures of Ireland and her family who lives in Dublin, but I'm anxiously awaiting the chance to do so. . . just wanted to say hi, though, in case you thought I wasn't reading your blogs because I wasn't responding--I am, I just was hoping I'd get the chance to see your pictures first! Things are going ok, though being unemployed is starting to get unnerving. Me & Gene are taking a road trip to pick up a painting in Michigan: we're stopping off to visit Pittsburgh, Detroit, Columbus and Milwaukee on the way--would love to send you a postcard, is there a place I can send you mail? Love & miss you! Jeanine - Jeanine

Very pretty! - From: peace
that's really great to hear. . . i myself am feeling much happier these days since I quit/asked to get fired from my job. . . I've come to the conclusion that the only job I'll ever love doing is one where I am writing or working with other people's writing. . . so I'm looking in that direction and meanwhile just sort of doing lots of little jobs to make money--so much happier than I was before!!! Hopefully, me & gene will be going on a trip somewhere soon after everything w/ his auction settles down. I have a tremendous urge to be in the desert right now, for some reason. . . take care, and keep in touch!! love ya, jeanine - jeanine

Wow - From: Quickie
Looks like a great place to run. . . I myself have to settle for the "cardio theater" at the 12th Street Gym. . . however, I do get the added bonus of working out with my buff gay brothers in the weight room--which is kind of nice, because all the guys there are so intense but so polite!!!! - jeanine

Good move. . . - From: A Chairde (Dear Friends)
I think I would shoot myself after living in a hostel for longer than 2 days, personally--and I grew up sharing a room w/ 3 other girls and a bathroom with 9 people:) But seriously. . . a friend of mine (who I'll let remain anonymous) was backpacking thru Europe & staying in hostels and ended up with BODY LICE. . . scary, right? - Jeanine

HI ROXANNE - From: Kissin da Stone!
Hey Roxanne, Looks like a lot of fun--I'm never sure if I like the feeling of vertigo or don't like it, so I'm not sure if I'd do it or not. . . on one hand, I like feeling like I'm going to fall, but on the other hand, that's exactly what I'm always having nightmares about. . . that's probably what partially makes the Blarney Stone experience such a psychic rush, now that I think about it. . . I really hope you are having a great and memorable time on your trip. Things here are ok for me--as usual, i have a love-hate relationship w/ my job and am dabbling with a wide variety of "self-improvement" projects, half of which will be abandoned next week. I'm at Gene's right now; we're just going to have pizza and wine and maybe watch a movie. Keep me updated visually and otherwise w/ what's going on with your life in Ireland!!! Love Jeanine - Jeanine

I'm really digging your blog idea and may have to steal it. . . - From: a few shots from Dublin
Very nice, Roxanne--this is a really good way to keep in touch w/ people and let them know what you are seeing and doing. Its very fun to get your blog updates via email, and I always check them. . . As narcissistic as it may seem, I'm thinking of copying your idea here & getting my sisters to start a community blog so we let people stay visually and verbally updated with us. How are things going? - Jeanine

Damn you are in Cork, I thought it was the other way around. . . . - From: LOOKING FOR A HOME
Sorry, thought I could have Ruth (my irish emigre roomate) help you out in Dublin, didn't realize you were in Dublin first (which is EXTREMELY expensive, esp. right now from what I hear) and Cork second; Will still check out stuff. How's the hostel? Philly is boring and exactly the way you left it, by the way. . . - jeanine
