Hello everyone. I realize that I just posted, however, I had a fantastic weekend with some cool pics of myself, as well as Teddy! So, this weekend, I met up with a friend of a friend from Alamosa... The friend I met with is actually from Germany and her name is Herta. Herta was the person who wrote me about how her daughter studied with my friend's family for a year and how wonderful it was for her. Herta also drove to Granada and took photos for me so that I could see where I would be living. Thus, this weekend, I finally got to meet her for real, and it was amazing. So, how is everyone doing? I hope all is well and everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was interesting but definately one that I wont forget any time soon. We had mashed squash instead of mashed potatoes... so they were orange and tasted like sweet potatoes... very interesting indeed, and very fun. About a month ago we went to a place in the Mountains called "Alpujarras." It was beautiful and we did a lot of hiking and whatnot. It was so pretty. Last weekend I went to the capital of Andalusia, Sevilla. We saw a bunch of gardens and I met a friend from Adams there. He is doing an internship with a physical therapy clinic. Hey there everyone! So, this past weekend, I hopped on a plane to Rome, Italy!!! I was so amazing... For sure my favorite place! We got there on Halloween night, went and got some pizza and just hung out at and around the Hostel we were staying at. The following day, we walked all over the Colosseum. Teddy got to be a Gladiator for a day and that was fun... After the Colosseum, the tour guide that we had had really taken notice to one of the girls that I was with and because she was with four other girls, he decided to sweet talk all of us. He showed us a great little grocery store to get some fantastic Italian deli sandwiches, which were fantastic, and we had a picnic at the Colosseum. Very beautiful. ... read more

So, this weekend, a friend and I went to Paris. It was so beautiful, however, now that I've gone, I dont ever really need to go back... Fun to experience though. We left Spain on Thursday morning and upon arriving to Paris, I rode my first ever metro to get to our hostel. Thursday evening was completely devoted to the Eiffel Tower. It was the most amazing structure I've ever seen. We went all the way to the top. We had to climb over 700 stairs and then there was a little elevator for us to go up to the top. Hey there! This weekend I went to the beach in Nerja! It was so much fun... really windy! I thought I was back in Alamosa but there was the ocean, so... not really! It was a beautiful little town and there were rides and all sorts of stuff going on. Tomorrow is the day to celebrate "la Hispanidad" (day of being Spanish... really). So I don't have school! Yea!!! Just going to relax and enjoy some time to myself! But back to Nerja... so some of us decided that it would be fun to jump into the HUGE ANGRY WAVES... let me tell you, not my brightest moment... Well, hello there all! I'm in my 4th day in Granada and I'm doing pretty well... It's getting a little bit easier to be away from everything that I know and am familiar with, it's just taking some time. I really like the class that I'm taking... There are 2 teachers, 4 hours a day... Just us learning the Spanish Language... I'm happy. One of my teachers is really fun. Her name is Africa and she is just so much fun! She talks really loud and uses her hands a lot and loves to laugh and make fun of people... Sound like anyone else you all know? Anyway, it's going well. Well, in approx. 8 days, I'm peacing out to the land of Spain... Dear lord, I'm scared... It'll be good though. I'll be able to try new food, meet so many people, finally remove the wall of lack of confidence that has been hurting me in my ability to speak Spanish for, well, i dont know... 5 years!!! It'll kick my butt, yet, I'll leave with so much more than I went with... Please pray for me...... read more
