Rosalie Barbour I decided Summer School in Spain would be the best way to learn Spanish and get college credit for it... So here I go on the adventure of a lifetime. Take a peak into my life for the next four weeks and leave lovely comments as you stop by. Have a delightful day! :->

Thursday

 Europe » Spain » Catalonia » Barcelona
Hola, Sooooo, this is the last entry before I go home. Talk about a WEIRD feeling. Thursday was delightful. Long but fun. School was good. We closed the books and practiced talking for 2 hours. My brain was fried after that. I think we all made great progress though. Today is our last day and we are having a competition to see who knows the most words. We went home for siesta (lunch break for the city) after school. I realized that one of my shirts fell down between my bed and the wall. My bed is up pretty high, and [View Full Entry]

Hola, All is fantastic here in Barcelona. School was fabulous yesterday. We listened to a lot of music and learned all about words and phrases for the weather. My homework was to watch the news and figure out the weather for today. Gotta love Summer School in Spain. We FINALLY made it to the maze park!!! Woohoo! It was really fun. I think the majority of us got out in about 25 minutes. Amanda, the teacher friend that is with us, got way lost and we had to send one of the guys in after her to help lead her to [View Full Entry]

Tuesday

 Europe » Spain » Catalonia » Barcelona
Hola, I hear it is hotter than fire in Atlanta this week. My sympathy to you all. Tuesday was fantastic. School was grand, whatīs new? We played lots of games but did not sing any songs. After class, our leaders brought us Pizza Hut before our fieldtrip. I could barely eat two veggie pieces. People in Europe just do not eat heavy food like that. I donīt think my body likes greasy American food anymore. Pretty weird. Our field trip was short and fun. We went to La Pedera. It is one of Gaudiīs last works. I donīt think people live [View Full Entry]

Hola, Really fast entry. I have 20 minutes. Monday was pretty good. School was fantastic. We played games as usual. I have a test Friday so we will see just how much I really learned in 4 weeks. We went back home after school. No field trips. I fell asleep for two hours which was grand. Suzanne and I then left to see the last 2 cathedrals we had not been to. We are officially done sight seeing except for the 2 field trips left with the Gordon Gang. Today we are going to one of the houses with no right [View Full Entry]

ĄHola! We all made it back alive from Venice! Great times and many fun stories. Too much pizza, pasta and ice cream. I do not have enough time to tell you all about the weekend before class starts. I will post it hopefully tonight but tomorrow morning at the latest. I come home in just over 5 days. Seems crazy, but wonderful. Love you, Thanks Mom, RoSiE [View Full Entry]

ĄHola! All is fantastic, once again, here in Barcelona! Everyone is done with the unhappiness and we are all ready for Venice. But first, let me tell you about yesterday. A ton happened. School was good as usual. We did not take any notes, which is really weird. We just chatted in espaņol for the whole 4 hours. We talked all about Spanish culture and our host families and how our daily routines usually go. It was pretty fun. Good to practice speaking. And of course we got to listen to more Spanish pop. I actually now like it better than [View Full Entry]

Tuesday

 Europe » Spain » Catalonia » Barcelona
Hola, Tuesday was a pretty good day. We did not have a field trip, and I think most of us were glad. It seemed as though everyone was over sight seeing yesterday. After school, Suzanne and I ran some errands and wandered around La Rambla for awhile. We bought our bus ticket to the airport for this weekends trip to Venice. Today we have to change over some dollars to euros. After wandering for awhile, we headed back to Lupés. She went to a concert last night so she made dinner for us and then left. We had the mystery meat [View Full Entry]

Hola, I must be honest. I am tired today. I donīt feel like writing a journal entry, but I know I will regret it if I donīt. I donīt want to go to class today either. I think this is that half way mark where Iīm worn out. MMMk, enough of that. Let me tell you about yesterday. School was difficult yesterday. We were learning directions so we were playing games where we had to lead each other from place to place on a road map. It was sorta like the blind leading the blind... After school, we all stayed to [View Full Entry]

ĄHola Guapas! (hello beautifuls) Hope all is well back in the States. Things have been great here in Spain. World Cup frenzies. Weekend trips with the Gordon Gang. Bull fight...or maybe not. And mountain climbing. This weekend was fantastic. Friday after school we left with the Gordon Gang for Besalú, a city two hours away. NOW, a note to all Godīs Light folk: I do NOT want to hear any complaints about cramped busses. This was the bus ride from hell. Not an empty seat left, and everyone smelled bad. There were people from our group who were acting like stupid [View Full Entry]
