Well sadly after a wonderful two weeks, where we laughed,partied and generally ate and drank too much we had to leave and move onward to Perth and Singapore. Perth was very different to Adelaide very hot and much more anglicised. Singapore was even hotter and very, very humid. Excitement in singapore we arrived at our hotel to find we were sharing it with President Bush so had to undergo all kinds of security checks, but we did get upgraded to a better suite with a balcony nearly as big as our garden at home and free brekkie. It was so weird to be in all the shopping malls with malaysian people whilst english carols were played. 2nd January 2006 HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL! Update for you! At last I hear you cry! Well, here goes, hope it’s not too boring for you! I have completed a Thai cookery course & now have a cupboard full of ingredients it will take ages to use up! But it was good fun & I’ve gained a few good recipes from it. Even though in the process, I managed to burn my brand new wok! Have also completed my ‘Learn to Row’ course - good fun, but more difficult than it looks! Got on better as a team in the last 2 weeks, though I was struggling to do everything, i.e. using the slide correctly, feathering the blade etc. Not easy! G’Day from Oz! Yip, it’s us!! Have been experiencing a few technical hitches with the Internet but we’re up & running now!! (Hopefully!) Well, what can we say? Its horrible here, the weather is awful, our accommodation is really bad, no one speaks to us, the food has given us stomach ache & we’re allergic to the beer! Not!! It’s bloody brilliant!! A cold winter’s day is 15oC, warm & sunny, & still the locals complain…should have left all the winter clothes in the UK! If this is winter what the heck is summer going to be like? Our temporary accommodation: We wish…maybe the next place… So this is it - 3-bed house - not bad hey?
