In the morning we had cooked breakfast - on the gas cooker ...as it was not only warm but it was a means of getting our hands defrosted. LESHAN Early start- bus 55 and then bus to Leshan and 2.5 hours and we are here. It is wonderful, hours on the train down south of China and suddenly there is green trees, hurrah. Off we go to find the biggest Buddha in this maze, luckily they have it sign posted in English, so it should not be that hard. After exploring the whole grounds we have found him. Again early start, I so wish the Panda's would have there breakfast bit later, they have no consideration for once need of longer sleep. Was it worth it, well depends on how you feel about captured animals and being artificially bred, because they are on the edge of extinction as result of us humans. BANK ROBBERY After three weeks the cash was running low, we went to withdraw some money for our Horse trekking trip. In big city like Chengdu it should not be a problem, right- that is if you remember your PIN ( Group didn't). JOURNEY TO SONGPAN Well this was our earliest start so far (5.50 am leaving hostel). And 8 hours on the bus heading north of Chengdu. ARRIVAL IN CHENGDU Our hostel- Mix hostel, it is pretty basic, has everything you need, and electric blankets, god's send from heaven. It is quite cold hostel, and you feel warmer outside of it's walls than in it. We have explored Chengdu, and decided what we will do tomorrow, see the biggest sitting Buddha in the world.
