So, September 5th was one of the roughest days of my life. In order to catch our 6:00 am flight from Barcelona to Florence, Derek and I spent our last day in Barcelona and then caught the subway to the airport at 11:30 pm. Since the subway doesn't go directly to the airport at that hour, we also had to catch a night bus. It is my last day in Spain. Today I hope to visit a place called Sagrada Familia, which is a nearby church designed by Antoni Gaudí. It looks beautiful in pictures, so I am very excited. After that, I am not sure what I want to do next. So far, my time here has been fun. My only gripe is that the hostel is not close to anything, so I'm constantly having to figure out the public transportation here. So, after a few days into my trip, I finally have a few minutes to catch my breath. My flight from Minneapolis to London was rough. I had a hard time sleeping, and arrived feeling very groggy. After dropping 40 pounds on a cab from the airport (big mistake) I reached my hostel. London was very nice and I wish that I had been able to stay longer. This is my first Blog ever. I have written a few short things on Myspace before, but nothing worthwhile. I also used to think Blogs were a silly concept. After all, who would really care to read MY ramblings? However, now that I am going on my first trip to Europe, a friend of mine suggested that I start a blog to chronicle my adventures there.
