I have finally settled into Bournemouth and have celebrated a few of my favorite holidays-American-British Style. Here are few pictures of Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas Party and few night outs! FYI-my first time hosting a thanksgiving and ending up having 23 guests from 10 different countries, 2 9 lb turkeys, the electricty going out and lots of wine!! It was a good time... Stiring the Gravy in the Dark
Lining Up for the Food
Nena and I

Everyone seemed to ask me, “Was Ireland what you expected,” and knowing already that there would be slanted rain, tractors on the roads and stonewalls, Ireland still surprised me! Within the first 4 days I experienced the true Irish culture…I had told Joe that it still hasn’t hit me that I will be in Ireland and even more of a shock that I would be meeting his parents for the first time. As soon as we landed, I didn’t want to get off the plane and it finally sunk into realization 110%. We drove back to the village of Caherlissakill, Monivea [View Full Entry]

Do As the Locals Do Europe » United Kingdom » Scotland
Visiting a place is always best seen through a local! Thanks to Roddy, we saw Scotland and also saw the inside of a few pubs. Joe and I stayed in Bishopbriggs-Glasgow with Roddy’s brother and fiancé. We stumbled upon a fine day in Scotland where everyone was outside in shorts, sandals and pints of beer in their hands. Meeting up with a few past and new friends, we chatted about the memories of Australia, told a few stories and then proceeded to have a night out in Glasgow. Still a nice day in Scotland, Joe and I checked out the city [View Full Entry]

Where is Everyone Europe » Iceland
Arriving into the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik, at 6:30 a.m. is like entering mars with no sound of human existence. A bus took Joe and I from the airport to the bus station where we were suppose to jump onto a connecting bus to our city hostel. After waiting an hour, we finally decided to take a taxi instead to the hostel only to find out we had to wait another 4 hours until check-in. Maybe a coffee and some breakfast would tie us over until then, so we walked and walked and walked to find somewhere that was open. After [View Full Entry]

The Great Geyser

Starting out the overseas trip traveling in a minivan covering 2000 miles from Florida to Boston while watching the 70’s show on the computer with plugs and chords coming out of any possible outlet, driving into the city that never sleeps at 12:30 a.m., following a map choosing the “quickest” and mostly wrong route, seeing the famous landmark that immigrants first see entering the US, driving up and around through the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, walking around the US capitol for a meet with Bush at the White House and ending with some much deserved drinks in Bosto [View Full Entry]

Here are a few pictures from my trip to Ixtapa, Mexico. This was truly a treat because it was an annual event put on by a company I work with. 2 words come to mind: ALL INCLUSIVE. This meant hotel room over looking the ocean, food at the 5 restaurants on premise, drinks-Corona and Margaritas, a snorkeling, fishing or dolphin trip and after partys at the discothèque. I must admit, I was a bit spoiled! [View Full Entry]

Living in Florida has prepared me for the hurricane traveling routine: watch the wheather channel, board up the windows, change my flight and hurricane hits. I associate my recent travels with each hurricane that has hit Florida. I promised myself upon returning from my South Pacific travels that I would continue traveling within my country. Little did I know that Hurricane Season was going to effect my traveling?! So to combine my past 4 trips into 1 blog, I will use the “2004 Hurricane Timeline.” While the storms were stirring in the Atlantic, I had the chance to safely tra [View Full Entry]

As I slowly get readjusted to the American way of life and start my first real job out of college, it seems like I was never even in Australia and New Zealand.  Though it seems like a year ago that I was half way across the world, I could never forget the people I met, the experiences I’ve had, and my new knowledge of the world and cultures.  I had the best opportunity to travel; just graduated from college, no real job, no boyfriend, and didn’t know what I wanted to do…so I spent 7 months traveling a.k.a. “backpacking.”  Before I [View Full Entry]

New Zealand is famous for its stunnign scenery and National Parks where there are great walks to hike through from Milford Sound's wliderness and lakes to Abel Tasman's coastline of turqouise-blue bays and beaches. These great walks cover anywhere from 40K to 150K and take several days to complete. I got the chance to see a bit of the Abel Tasman and Milford Sound area but no one told me about the Great Walks of the Lord of the Rings. My journey started in Wellington on a dreary day with winds 70 mph. There were guided tours that covered the LOR [View Full Entry]
