Hola - From: Back Home
April, Thanks for posting this. It's always great to read your entries and see the pix you post from Honduras. I pray that God is using you in a mighty way at the summer camp. Josh Price is working as a counselor this summer too. This Saturday night is our mega-reunion for Honduras with the Bullocks. How we wish you could come!!!!!!!!!! Kristen leaves Tuesday so she won't get to come either. But we had her and her brothers over Friday for a great time. <3 and prayers, Solana

Yes, it is challenging to remember what we've experienced and continue to allow it to change our hearts and lives. Whenever she returned from trips to Honduras, Hannah would always say, "Mommy, I don't want to go back to living like I used to." May God help us to make lasting changes!

wow. i have tears in my eyes, mostly because i am so often impacted that way by things like what you saw here and no one understands. i told a friend last week that there are things in the world... sad broken disgusting things that i have to leave to God, because otherwise my heart would break all the time. i think that applies here! we have the obligation to do all we can to be "light in the darkness... a city on a hill"... and we have to let God do the rest. so convicting isn't it? i really wish i could have shared this first hand with you... huge hugs and lots of love!!

Haven't ever tried to make flan...although I love it. Villamil has two great ones I love: coffee and coconut. Delicious. I've made a few things here...baladeas especially. That'll become a new staple for me. :) There are a lot of commonalities between the central american countries I've been in. One definitely knows he's in CA. But each one is also unique. It feels different when I cross the border to Guatemala or El Salvador. The people are different...and a bit of the culture too...and they may use different words for things. Like the variation between the east and west coast, or the south, or the midwest in the states. I really have loved getting to experience so much here and being a part of so many different things. Even though Copán is a huge tourist town, and lots of expats live here, I really treasure the Honduran friends that I have and the relationships I've made. That is the best thing I've gained from my time here!

Hola April. By how you describe all activities you take part in I'd say it is really amazing the amount of Honduran culture you have assimilated. I should probably say Central American culture since for what I understand all these countries are pretty similar, Well you tell us. It would be cool though if you learn how to cook some of those dishes you describe in your blog. Have you tried to make a Flan yet? I find those extremely delicious. Please take care and write more. Stunning and amazing is the way you describe that little town that I have visited in past vacations. I can even hear the chirping insects in a clear night in Copan, combined with the clear sky shinning with a million stars. I can even hear the murmur of that little stream running down the valley. But what is more amazing is the peace of mind that you have in your heart. I guess that the solitude and slow pace of that town has helped you to accomplished that state. I can wait for the day I will move there.

Surprise! - From: SURPRISE!!!
When your called me a week before she left to join saying that she was going with Aric to see you God answered a prayer. I'm glad you were surprised to see her and I know she was happy to see you also. She was so excited once she made the decision to go. I can't wait to hear what she has to say about the trip. Love and Hugs!!!!

Rilla hy, my name is Ed and I want to tell you that your work down there is very commendable. I admire you for your dedication with those children that need people like you to give them hope for a better future. I am planning to move to Copan Ruins by the next year and I have a son--8-year-old son that I will enroll in Mayatan. I will request from you some information. My son doesn't speak any Spanish at all, although I am Hispanic but in home we never spoke any Spanish. Do you think that he will be able to handle third grade without knowing any Spanish? I would appreciate if you give some ideas and more information about Mayatan school. Thank you Ed from Miami, Fla

Ich bin falsche - From: Life at Random
I know exactly what you mean about the language changing. Today I couldn't properly say 'early' (fruh), a word I've said a million times before....it's SO frustrating sometimes!! :)

God Works Through You - From: A place called "La Pintada"
When you refer your story about the kids in La Pintada, your words are so inspirational. I admire your devotion to those kids in need. It takes a real christian to go down there to a country where the need is right in your face wherever you turn your head, and as you say, not only see the burden they carry , but carry it out with action. And one last comment: Your role is not small. You will receive blessings for all the help you are bringing to this people. I am sure that they see hope when they see you, because through you, God is working.

Hello - From: Hot Springs!
Hi April, thanks for all your updates, they are so interesting to read. You make life here in the states look rather boring and colorless, especially after your fabulous photos. I read all the blogs up till now, but if you have time, email me sometime, ok? (Time...what's that?) :-D See ya in less than a year!!

I realized I should have put this a public comment rather than a private one. Looking forward to your photos when you have time. Love and prayers!! April - I just finished catching up on your blog (9/4) . You have a way with MANY things (teaching, believing, patience, care for others, love for God and many more) but you also have a way with words. As I read each of your entries on your various involvements in Hondouras I could feel the love you have for what you are doing, it seems to be sheer joy. I hope that makes sence to you. As I have mentioned before you have done and are doing such wonderful things for so many people it is a honor to be a relative of yours. I pray that Felix (hurricane) doesn't/hasn't caused problems with you, yours and Hondouras. Love, prayers and thoughts are with you A.Betsy

Miss you - From: My Family
April, its so funny, it took me forever to find how to write a comment. Haha... well not forever. You would think I know how to read-huh. I just want you to know that you are so missed and love by someone in GR, who is from the Bahamas. I am so proud of you and thankful for God that He chose you to go forth into the world for the kingdom of God. May every need you have be met by His glorious riches. You are a wonderful person that loves beyond measures. God bless you friend
