Stacey and I drove to two small towns today. We went to the coastal village of Vannes where town life is the way you imagine provincial France should be. The cobblestone streets were lined with small shops, outdoor cafes and stunning architecture. Music was in the air - first from two young men playing classical accordians and then from an Italian tourist who was singing and strumming his guitar in one of the cafes. 24 hours and 4 airports later, I have arrived in Bretange near the Atlantic coast of France. The drive here from Brest was beautiful and I was taken aback by the architecture and scenery - green rolling hills dotted with cottage style houses and plenty of horses and farm animals. The kids and I have a bad case of the summer blues and the clock is not helping us find a cure. Today has dragged on and on, but as soon as it hits 2:00pm we will all be out for the summer.
