Have you ever gone and done something that you never thought you would find yourself doing in a million years? This last week was that week for me…..Especially since it was just last year that I finally got in the ocean without being in a constant state of panic as I imagine sharks being all around in every direction I turn, as we began taking the kids to go snorkeling on our trips to Tanga. Psalm 104:25 There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number— living things both large and small. Well, Brent & I decided [View Full Entry]

for Ahimediwe and Ludivica May 17th 2008
The wedding of Ahimedeway Kimarro and his new bride, Ludavica May 17th 2008 "FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH." Ephesians 5:31 At the church building in Arusha The Wedding Only started about 2 hours late, but sweet and simple was the union of these two young individuals in the eyes of the Lord. Ahemideway is a former student at Andrew Connally School of Preaching and is currently working at the school as the printer. This was actually my first time to actually [View Full Entry]

What an amazing week we’ve had! From start to finish, everything that has come our way this week in particular has been an encouragement and a blessing! As a family, we sat and talked about what all has been going on this past few months, and tried to draw together the things which strengthen our spirits and encourage us individually, what are those things that just make your day brighter and let the Love of the Lord fill you from your head to your toes! Across the board it was when we find ourselves doing for others, that we feel the [View Full Entry]

Greetings, Grace and Peace, to each of you. I know that this report is finding you a day later than normal, after two weeks of dealing with the internet company, we have had to settle for the fact that we are just not going to have reliable internet with them any time soon. What does that mean? For us it primarily affects the web site. We have decided to suspend it for a time, until the problem is resolved or we are able to switch companies. So for the immediate future I will be sending out the short reports via Travel [View Full Entry]

T.I.A. This is Africa!
T.I.A. This is Africa!
from the mouths of babes! Gracie's Picture for Mom this week!
It’s funny the things you learn about yourself through the eyes of your children. I hadn’t noticed that we used this phrase as much as I guess we do day in and day out, but Gracie made me a picture the other day that said, “This is Africa!” otherwise known as TIA! ~ Our household motto! And we’re finding that it’s a much broader used term than we realized. The other day we overheard some people eating dinner using the same coin phrase as well. Nothing derogatory, just the simple fact that in Africa, things are a little different, on a [View Full Entry]

The lives we touch
The lives we touch
You never know who you're going to meet and what needs you will find.
If We Faint Not…. Consider the ever changing faces of the harvest fields, how the seasons determine the farmer’s plans, the time for planting and the time for sowing, for reaping and the work and the effort put into each crop that can vary from place to place. How life changes so drastically between the dry and rainy season here in Tanzania! How the lack of harvesters may actually hinder the yield. Luke 10:2 “Therefore said he unto them, the harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send [View Full Entry]

LOVE

We've been looking back over the many faces that have passed through our lives here in Tanzania over the past 6 years.... from 2002 to 2008 Philippians 1:3 "I thank my God upon all my remembrance of you" So many of you are more than friends, but our extended family abroad! And we love and cherish each and every one of you. Your faithfull support of this work and our family, through the years and the great example you have been to all who have known you and heard your many stories of Africa, will carry on for a lifetime! 2002 Our family adapting to life in Tanzania

APRIL marked the 1 year Anniversary for the Train the Teacher's Workshop for the Ladies in Moshi! This past Saturday we had our monthly Train the Teachers workshop at Moshi, the ladies gather together to share in teaching techniques and ideas to help build up the children's Bible classes and the ladies abilities to teach them. While we were few in number this month, it was still a wonderful Ladies Class. We taught the first couple of months as we began this class a year ago this month, and then moved into letting the Tanzanian women take turns coming up with [View Full Entry]
