Well, this it it, we're off on a year off, wandering the world sampling many different beers, wonderful places and cultures.
Taking in Spain, South Africa, Namibia, Singapore, Borneo, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, laos, Vietnam, New Zealand, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil (plus a few others we accidently end up in!) we aim to make the most of our time off work!
OK, so as you probably all already know….we’re home now but we wanted to fill you in on the last few weeks of our adventure. We have started our journey in Patagonia, which is turning into one of the most stunning places I have ever seen. So our next stop is Ushuaia, the southern most city in the world. I was pretty excited about heading down this far south and had also heard that there was a pretty large Penguin colony there too, which obviously ruled! In case anyone was in any doubt….I bloody love penguins. Lol When we arrived in Ushuaia we were pleased to discover that we had accommodation booked in a hostel. We were supposed to be staying in a campsite just out of town so this was a real treat. My first

I have a tummy bug, the first of all the travels which is annoying, so am taking the time to catch up on some blogs stuff as we are so far behind. Whoops! I think we are just leaving Bolivia as far as you all know.....and we have been to about 4 countries since then so much apologies! The tour is usually a pretty fast pace and we struggle to find the few hours the blogs need. We promise to catch up and let you know about our final months though......even if we finish it after getting home. So anyway.....after leaving
... read moreHi, Rich here to carry on our South America adventure. So after a few days in Santiago it was time to say our farewells to half of the travel group we had travelled from Lima to Santiago with, spending New Year, Christams day and the Inca trail with. A fantastic group of friends! We soon met up with the new guys for the Santiago to Rio de Janerio Leg. We had previously discovered that the best way to get to know each other was over a beer or 2, so we headed over to our friends Hostel across town for a good get-to-know-each-other session. It seemd to work as we all get on!! We left Santiago for Pucon, a 6 hour drive south to a small town on the shores of the lake Villerrica. Our main

Carol covered the fun that was the Inca trail and the infamous 'Inca Trail Carol'. Again a lot of this is from memory, some 6 weeks ago now, so bear with us! We left Cusco after a great 8 days of trekking and fun, and left early to make the run to Puno, and Lake Titicaca. Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world, and South Americas largest. It also forms part of the border between Peru and Bolivia. We arrived late afternoon and sorted out our trip out onto the lake and we opted to go for a homestay on the largest island. We left early next morning, jumping

Think Rich apologised about our lack of blogs in the last one but I also wanted to say sorry. The tour keeps quite a fast pace and when we have internet, we basically keep up with emails, facebook etc and not a lot else. We are currently in a place called El Calafate to visit the giant Moreno Glaciar close by and the hostel has free wi-fi......so I will try and get this written while I can. Sorry to say but I have just sat and spent the last 2-3 hours typing a lovely long blog and account of my Inca Trail experience and the stupid Blog sight just lost it all so
... read moreHi everyone, first up, sorry about the delay in writing anything down for you all, it's been a busy 2 months or so since getting here in south america that we've just been finding it difficult to find the hours we need to sit down and get it all down in writing! So we're both well, enjoying our time and getting a lot in. As you'll find out! We left off in New Zealand (god that seems an age ago!), we spent a few days in Aukland prepping for South America, and celebrating Carols birthday by going up the skytower for a night out. We done it in style, going for a meal, complete with fantastic views and then hitting the casino for free (budget style) drinks and a bit of gambling to finish off. We

It has in fact been sun, snow, rain, cloud, just about every season in the last 2 weeks!! It falls to me unfortunately to try to put in to words the last few fantatstic weeks we've had in New Zealands south Island. I'm not sure you can really do it justice, the views, scenery and how away from it all we've felt. We arrived in Christchurch, staying briefly overnight to update our blogs, play on the internet and have a kebab. We had booked a Wicked Campervan a few weeks before hand when we were in Bangkok and had got a top deal on it. As you can all tell by now,

We finally left Asia and headed to Australia but more of that later! Well, hello everyone. How's it going? We're both really well and without being too smug....are still having an amazing time! With Christmas fast approaching now it's so hard trying to imagine that it's nearly November. Anyway, I'm currently sitting in a back packers in New Zealand after just arriving here today. So far, so good. We pick up the camper van tomorrow and we're both pretty excited! So, last time you heard from us we were back in Bangkok, just about to head to Ko Samet, a lovely little island about 3 hours away from Bangkok. A favourite with

We managed to find ourselves a guest house pretty close to the river front, close being a walk and not a Tuk Tuk Ride away. Unfortunately for us the riverfront isn't what it used to be , or described as, because the river isn't actually visable due to the massive boards that now obliterate the view and now you have no idea if there's a river or a new set of temples behind it. As we're on a pretty tight schedule now we got up early on our first day and decided to have a nice, happy, uplifting day by visiting some sights of the Khmer Rouge Genocide that happened in
... read moreHello All, I hope your all as well as to be expected in Sunny (haha) England, a country from everything we read seems to be in a bit of a slide, increasing costs, uncertainty, credit munching and all sorts of stuff I read about on the internet. Of course travelling has it's on stresses as well, where to eat, drink, sleep and travel, whilst all the time trying to do this for the cheapest amount possible (keeping up with the Joneses in reverse). In itself trying to prevent people from getting every possible cent out of you is a fulltime occupation. Agreeing a price in dollars (because the vietnamese have no desire whats-so-ever to deal in thier own currenices) only to try to pay in dong had Carol going red in the face angry every day
