| 18th February 2008 Lung | welcome to HK again! - From: Hong Kong and the end of the road (for China....) Train became normal after snow storm been cleared. Good to hear that you love HK. This convinced that I didnt lie to you guys when I worked in Manchester. There are more than what you said in HK. Country parks in HK like Lake District. Seafood eating places definitely better than Blackpool. Restaurants and fast food shops everywhere and taste definitely better than Chinatown in UK. A lot of China temples that worth visiting. MTR is similar to London but higher standard. Trams along HK Island like Blackpool train. Star Ferry and other outlying islands visit like Cheung Chau is worth to try. Rich's way to Buddha can feel the old way - taking ferry and take bus - up and down the hills and near all beaches - is worth to go but a bit long journey and tired. I haven't tried the cable car - the longest in the world. A bit shame that we can only be back to HK at end Feb so that we cant travel along with you in HK. Eager to read your next blog. |

| 10th February 2008 Lung | Chinese are not easy - From: xian - home of karaoke and some bits of pottery Train - you will see how many chinese in the station.... Taking train particularly long distance train are poor people. You can see/smell how back the situation in train station. Karaoke hotel - you see something different in china for the culture. Restaurants and karaoke - the decoration is really 6-stars... Chinese enjoyed Big/luxury when they consume services. From above two, u see how large the income gap is........ |
| 2nd February 2008 Lung | Great Job - From: So many steps.... Amazing you guys climbed up to the hill! Admired even I didnt go to this Jinshanling before. What I heard this is an abandoned wall. Simatai is a good place to see a rather uncrowded great wall. If you go for the usual Badaling, you will see thousand of people walking along side with you. You two, now become the HERO! (with kung fu as well!!) Looking forward to hear your Xian trip!! |
