WOW What a day you must have had! What an awesome experience that must have been for all of you, I can't think of a more interesting way to research the family tree!
Lots of action in 4 days! Love the pictures you posted. After the armed welcome committee, I hope they are not your last. Everyone seems to be having a great time!
it all sounds fun and relaxing. I've been meaning to send you an
email. When I went up to water your plants, I left your curtains on
the south window open, so it would be easier for Tricia to water. I hope
that was okay. I also put your orchid on the floor in the window so it could get some
Indirect sunlight. We're having fun with Hannah and Ted and will probably
be home on Tuesday afternoon. Have fun and be safe. Jackie
Your Trip Andrea - you should really write a book -- the way you tell stories is the best. I find myself always laughing out loud when I read about your awesome journies -- and the adventures that often come with them.
We LOVED Tuscany -- it's a place I would visit again and agian.
Big hugs - and safe travels. Jane
I am LMAO. That is the funniest thing I have read in a long time. Tell Rich he didn't like his phone anyway, it's very European to be smelly and dirty and I am proud of him for saving his family from the gunman. Please be careful, have gun and drink a glass of wine for me. Jackie
I finally caught up on all your blogs today. I've been out of commission with my surgery yesterday. but am now in recovery mode - thank God! By the way, I got up at 3:30 for my surgery - but that's not a big deal for me, right Andrea! We had a good time with my family in Milwaukee last weekend. Tim and Dan went to the casino for an hour and Tim proceeded to win $1250 - can you believe it! Enough about us - sounds like your trip is ending on a high note! What could be better than shopping, eating, and drinking, I say! Can't wait to see you next week!
Dinner I can't wait to join you for your first dinner prepared by Chef Andrea. We are impressed with all that you have learned and know we won't be disappointed when you cook for us.
Looks like you guys are now having some relaxation. Keep it up.
Dinner Out Wow! I can't imagine driving and walking so far to go out to dinner! We are so spoiled with the abundance of restaurants within a block or two of our place, aren't we? Have fun with Jenny! From your description of her in an earlier blog, I'm sure you will...
sounds like your having a wonderful trip filled with wonderful memories. And you are too funny, somehow I can picture these things all happening to you. I enjoy reading your adventures and will be sad when they end. I always get a chuckle out of them. Enjoy!!
I'll have the stir fried eggplant please! Sounds tasty! Jenny seems like a gem - glad you hooked up with her. Hope you're recovering from your massage. We're headed to your old stomping grounds - Milwaukee - for the weekend. Keep in touch - I love reading your blogs!
China John and I toured with a group organized by Georgia Pacific. Now I realize we did not get the full flavor of the China experience. You will have to return with us, Andrea, so we can feel the "unprotected" ambiance !
TAKE CARE! Use a money belt!
Nancy
Oh my word!! What an experience. It sounds really complicated to visit China. You were really brave to try that alone. I think I will just try to find the virtual tour on the internet. Sounds safer.
art work When Dan and I were on our honeymoon in the Bahamas we bought these beautiful mats hand made by the local women sitting by the side of the road. Then we got home and about a week later saw the exact same mats at Bradlees!!! Haha we were duped. Oh, and how ironic, they were made in China.
Forbidden City Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City sound awesome! Maybe you could sign up for a tour and follow a flag bearing tour guide to see some other parts of the city. Enjoy! And thanks for sharing your adventures - it's unbelievable!
Andrea, I love hearing about your adventure, it makes me laugh and think about Bill and Carla's stories from there. They don't really differ to much. I am forwarding them on to Carla as I think she will get a kick out of your take on China. Have fun, and look forward to reading more.
Food I'm now hungry. I think I'll have some bacon and eggs, with wheat toast and jam. Or maybe a bisquit with gravy.
Hum, maybe I should not suggest this stuff while you are away so I'll stop. I smell the coffee brewing....
Just keep telling yourself that you are getting skinny and that hunger is "your friend". You can get a whole new wardrobe when you return. It sounds pretty amazing and you seem to have a good attitude about it all. We miss you and please tell Jerad to let me know when I need to water the plants.
The new weight loss program Just think how skinny you will be when you get back!! I want to go just to lose weight. It sounds interesting but how in the world do they all live so close together? No wonder that when they come here they are amazed at our lifestyle.
Wow! Good thing you're staying in a nice hotel! Some of the other places don't sound so delightful. Still - it's so cool that you can say you went there. Arden and I shared wine in your honor on Friday night. Can't wait to hear more... Irene
