Loadsa fun So sorry you found Sydney disappointing and expensive. It must be a huge culture shock having been in China (with its 13p beers) for a few weeks. It sounds as though you have been having a great time elsewhere - scuba diving, eating barramundi and sampling numerous bars with weirdo's. Keep having fun! Love mum x
Those cold winter nights Well happy mc birthday for when it was, i shall get you a present in about 4 months or so, maybe a snow globe, with pigs in it, yeah that sounds nice. Transformers the movie is awesome, and germany becons me, oh so much. Love ME
Great Time Hi there! Sounds like you had a really great time in HK, apart from the 'hags' and 'painted tarts' lingering outside dodgy bars! What on earth had Martin been drinking in order to be comatose most of the day? What a waste of a day..... Will you go back there some day?
Fake Monks I loved your description of the fake monks at Ding. Sounds like something out of a Bond film! Very interesting blog. Youve certainly had some weird food over there. So its off to HK...... Have a great time. Thinking of you. Mum xxxx
Sunburn Gulang Yu (AHA!) sounds lovely. I bet it was great watching the storms and the torrential rain - it seems as though the rain over there is far more impressive than what we get here. Have you got really sunburnt? I should think that by the time you get to Oz it will have cooled down a bit (Im assuming it is nearly winter over there). Keep sending the blogs. Mum xxx
Manky Feet Hangzhou sounds much more fun than Shanghai... What do you look like in a sailor t shirt?! And worst of all, who would want to nick your socks? Do they sell size 11's in China? Hooters sounds great..just the place to chill out over several beers. Not much happening over here.. John Prescott is in intensive care with pneumonia. Oh dear. Never mind. Keep having fun. Lots of love - Mum xx
Pissed Off Hello! Thanks for yet another great blog. However, this time you sound really pissed off... is it really that bad in Shanghai? It does sound a lot like London, but without clear blue skies. I love the sound of the bars youve been to. Not sure about that Ketchup songy thingy though. Is Shanghai a bit seedy? Sounds like it. I do hope this wont put you off... youve had a great time up to now. What is the Shanghai food like? Suppose its a bit westernised there. Have you succumbed to KFC or McD's yet, or are you continuing to eat with the locals? Keep having fun! Lots of love - Mum xxxx
hmmmm indeed... Amnesia (I meant by the way) Awww dosent sound too good there. The pollution sounds terrible, Chicagos sounds much of a muchness like there namesakes over here!!!...hehe. Look foward to the next installment. Take care mate.....
Alf Hi there! It seems as though you are continuing to have a great time over there, despite the jippy stomachs. I love your description of your inhouse termite, Alf. Have you had the pleasure of meeting him yet, or is he still knawing away inside your furniture?. It sounds very hot and humid over there. It is dull and wet here. Wish I was over there. Glad youve got a new penpal. You never know, you may have somewhere to stay when you go over there next time. Why is a 2 Jiao coin lucky? Anyway, continue to have fun and I'll contact you soon. Bye for now xx
Freezing Engerrrland Hi matey, glad things still going well for you over there. Bleeding freezin here after the warmth of April !
Bank Holiday weekend just gone was a total wash out, am sure that will please you, as you're leaky armpits fill up those delightful train carriages! Missing the delights of egg and bacon sarnies from the cafe maybe?
This Friday Engeerrrland play the boys from Brazil, Becks has been recalled to save our skins, so watch this space! not sure if the Beeb pictures travel to China.
Keep in touch and keep playing with Jenni! - Paul
Brillaint Blog Thanks again for one of your brilliant blogs! It sounds totally fantastic out there.... shame you couldnt have seen more of the Forbidden City. Never mind. You seem to be having an adrenalin packed time anyway. Why didnt you do some reverse haggling and got yourself a nice woollen coat.. I would have died to see you in one! It would be all dinky. Glad you are enjoying the food. It must be heaven - mind you, I dont fancy the grilled duckling. Urgh. Tiannamen Square sounds nice... it must have been a bit of a culture shock to see a Ginger Ninja there, towering above everyone else. I hope you charged for the photographs. Anyway, keep having a brilliant time. Love Mum xxx
The way you tell it Oh sweet cakes mt friend, sounds like you be having a blast, although that is a rather long train journey, my b day was a non - event really, oh well.
F**king Jealous I am, but in a very good way, and kudos on the fine travel writing, a meandering journey through the twin gorges of wit and vocabulary i dare say. Actually its quite easy en it! See you in singapore. Bam

Hurricanes! All women are!! Only joking (to all the ladies reading this;) The insomnia........ that ll be the cheese, or the beer...hmmmmm. I wonder which????
Re: Exploits Hi again, my drunken little offspring! How's it all going? Looks like you are both having a wonderful time, even though you have turned into an amnesiac. And alcoholic. I would have loved to have heard you singing Comfortably Numb - was that after a few bevvies as well? You seem to have gone off noodles... how does that fare travelling around China? Are you prepared to eat animal innards? News from this neck of the woods.. West Ham thrashed Man U 1-0 yesterday, much to Jon's utter delight!! They now stay up in the Premiership. Im off to nippers birthday party next Sat (football themed, of course!). Thursday week Im off to cat sit for Jackie for a week whilst her and Steve go to the IoW. Its good to read the comments from your mates - keep the excellent blogs coming in! I have to keep telling Jon's 89yr old mum where you are and what you are up to (well, the abridged version anyway) as she has taken a keen interest in your exploits. Oh well. Bye for now. Enjoy your Chinese experience. Lots of love, Mum xxxxxx
