Zurich tram sign Hey, very nice and true travel blog you wrote about Zurich.
About the Zurich tram sign ("They don't like poor people or mexicans with guitars...go figure")..they have removed the Mexican-hat from the third image in ALL of them in the trams. I live in Zurich, and noticed that !!!.
So apparantly a Zurich civil servant realised this, (viewed your travel blog!) and took action, and hat the Mexican hats removed. Or they just realised it was a bit discriminating.
Cheers from Zurich! V.
Welcome ! Ret ,
You are most welcome. I appreciate your kind words. You , Audree , and my son were all a lot of fun , though I may not have provided the parental guidance normally appropriate , but hey , it is Prague , afterall. I had a lot of fun , but was reminded that I couldn't keep up with you kids on a regular basis !
awesome!! dude.... i love that town!!! i actually played soccer at the rembrandt plein (the field between the camera and the museum in one of the pictures above..... plus i got to go to that museum which was great!!! if you are there on saturday... you should go and try and find the market..... huge indonesian marked that has sooooooo much stuff for barely anything.....(if you are at the train station that brought you in from the airport.... and exit.... the market is on the far side of the city to your left...... my direction sucks - but it is huge and most people should be able to point you there....)
plus there are tons of great restaurants in that city.... indonesian food is great and if you go to the right spot... it has something like 8 courses..... and spicey!! oh yeah!
oh and if you haven't...... go find a "pancake" place...... there is a great one down the street from ann frank's house....... they are more potato pancake than real pancake..... but they make em as extensive as an omlet...... soooooooooo good... and huge!!! i am drooling now thinking about it!!!!!
have fun!
I got your voicemail at 5am, buddy. How's it hanging? What are you doing in Turino? I'm incredibly jealous of that hockey game, man. I hope you're cheering the Americans with the full force of the RET.
It seems in these pictures, though, that your European peers are outdoing you in rowdiness. Little do they know. Little do they know. I expect to see you standing up on tables in future pictures.
You are the pinnacle of American rowdiness, and the best we have to offer in that regard. You have a good time, you're loud, but you are not arrogant. You must prove to the European beerdrinkers (especially the Germans) that we can hang. You must pursue this mission with the determination that I've seen on top of Hamburger Barn tables. Remember that you are not only just drinking for a good time, you are drinking for your country!
My project My Rome Studio project was in the Pechile in Hadrian's Villa. I hated it the first time I went out there, but it was cold, overcast and yucky. Later visits really went a lot better. Did you find Pireneze's signature? Are you guys going out there as a class? Davide is a great tour guide (as is Emilio, but Davide took us through the villa). We also had a woman who was some archeology expert and she really told us a lot to.
Enjoy Munich!

GATE questions We loved the pictures, especially of Pompeii and their houses and molds of the dead people. We studied Pompeii and it is awesome to see actual pictures of it. We will keep up with you and we want more pictures and hey we are interested in the fizzy drink. What was the white powder? Will you see any part of the Olympics or are you too far away? Are you learning any of the Italian language? Have fun!!!
Katie #7 Isn't it Santa Maria sopra Minerva rather than St. Ignazio in the picutre...not to be a smart ass or anything...hope you're having fun in Europe....wish i were still there...
Love the Blog How wonderful! Thanks for posting everything and letting us enjoy the sights! We love you - take great care of yourself. Keep up the good work.
Cool pix I'm glad you are doing this so everyone can see and Jeff doesn't have to send ten million e-mails for Patsy like I had to do between Shannon and Mom (j/k)! And you'll be so glad you did it later. Anyway, too cool!
I'm so proud of you! What a great photographer, not to mention great looking red head! It is so fun to read your blog and know you are having a wonderful time. We miss you but this makes it better. Love ya!
Emilio Say Hello to Emilio for me. He may not remember me, but it's worth it. He was lots of fun. Ask him to "detach his shadow" and "fly." Love ya!
PS...Send Grandma a Happy Birthday postcard!
YEAH BUDDY! alright ret! i don't see any flames in those pictures so I guess you've kept out of trouble so far. Ha! Send me a post card or something will ya.
