Right now I'm currently sitting ina central internet hub in queenstown. My bus ride from Franz Josef was a long one. My day started with a rainy morning and the bus got in late (instead of 8am, it came at 8:30)....then not onl;y bc of the weather but I was feeling a bit sad. Ok, i'm addicted to this net stuff. I'm sitting here in a RED BUS, yes, a red bus, that's fixd to be an internet hub...it's just totally out of this world...cool music in the back ground, comfortable plush seats, lamps on the hard drives, crazy! Out of the bus front Windows I have incredible views of the Franz Josef mountain.......white snowy peaks...can't wait to do my heli hike tomorrow at 11am. Hoping for brilliant weather! WEll, haven't written in a while bc I was out Kayaking the abel Tasman Trek. Our group decided to do a 3 day tour through a company called MSK....this is where we were to do a two day kayak tour and a one day Hiking through the park. Arriving to the MSK headquarters, we are soon faced with a problem...the office was telling us that we had to rent our own camping equipment (tents/cooking stove/utensils, sleeping matts, ect.) a continuation from the first Picton Entry. So yes, everything was closed bc it was the day after X-mass. So funny, we all jump into Micheals parked van, took the warmn beers out and drank in his van...at arounf mid night i was tired and ready to go to bed. Taking the 3 hour ferry ride from Wellington to Picton, on Christmass NZ day, was just phenomenal! Fourtunately we had great weather on the way and we were able to have INCREDIBLE views of what the south island has to OFFER. Majestic towering green mountains islands, sittting on the still ocean waters! Ocean birds flying everywhere....just beath-taking. It really looked like the LORD of THE RINGS, but BETTER bc I was seeing it for myself!!!!
