Man, this internet cnx is Slow! WEll, yesterday, I took a tour up to the Peninsula where I saw Royal Albatroses NESTING.....It was quit a sight. Only In NEW ZEALAND do the albatroses nest on the Main land, no where else does this occur, well, at least that's what we were told. But I do believe it bc this birds are deep ocean birds. As the parents lay on their eggs, the Juveniles sored around, taking advantage of the Strong winds.......delicately opening their massive wings, waiting for the winds to take them, flying higher and higher, all around us! So where have I left off, Ay? So much has happened I don't know where to start! Just got back from doing a 4 day trek in the Milford Sounds and let me tell you.....IT WAS FREAKING "SWEET AS"! WE had incredible weather, clear days, expect for the last day, LOTS OF RAIN and let me tell you, my 110% NYLON RAIN JACKET, did nothing for me. Drenched, but nuff said....it was all well worth it. So today I take a flight out of stewart island. Ill be making my way to Te Anau where on the 11th I will be meeting my group to do the 4 day hike trek across Milford Sound. Last night, I did not sleep in my tent, I cheated, and got a room here at the hostel....yep, tents are not that comfortable, esp. when it rains all night long. So slept comfortably on a bED, yum! So i've made it down to stewart island where it is FREEZING COLD. I'll be tenting for the next three days and well, of course, it rained last night, yuck! I arrived to the island at about 4:20 pm yesterday after a long day of rain in INVERCARGIL (my stop from Queens-town and my wait for my flight out to stewart island)....the bus from queenstown had dropped me off at the invercargil Information center/Museum....and I had to wait 4 hours until my flight. But one thing, I had to get to an ATM fast bc they have none on the island....so [View Full Entry]
