Senior Citizens Tour to Kashi - Nepal
I am not aware of any special tours to Kashi and Nepal especially to Senior Citizens. However, there are many facilities available through regular travel agencies to these places in April and in fact throughout the year. Regarding cost of the tour, you have not stated from which place you are starting and the type of comfort you need in travelling to these places and the number of days you like to spend. In the normal course, a sum of Rs.20,000 will be sufficient per person for visiting these places starting from Delhi or Hyderabad.

Dear Sir, -- I have gone through the blog of your wife's Mansarovar Kailash Yatra. The photos are excellent as also the description. I along with my wife wished to perform Mount Kailash Yatra after my retirement but unfortunately I could not make it till now and now we may not be able to fullfill our desire on account of physical debility. I will try to send the photos of Datta Padukas separately to your email address. With Warm Regards to a senior colleague - Raghavarao Duggirala.

JYOTIRLINGA TOUR OF AN OLD COUPLE (2)
Dear Shri RK Rao garu I thank you very much for kind nice comments. I have not yet learnt the art of inserting photos into the travel blog. I am also a person retired from IRS in 2005 and settled in Hyderabad and since then visiting tourist places mostly punya kshetras in my own car and driving. The driving force is not physical energy; but only mental will power. With warm regards to a senior colleague - Raghavarao Duggirala.

Hats off to your planning !
your entry 2 was posted after entry 3 ! so i remarked that it was missing;thanks for the details of distances and places of stay, the poojas and the dakshinas etc;these are very helpful to plan a visit which i like to do by car. When you can drive on our roads and travel alone, you cannot declare yourself as old couple !! ;in fact according to govt norms you are not a senior citizen;so i suggest you delete the word'old' from your blog title. rkrao

A good narrative
Dear raghavarao garu, Reference to your blog came in my Google Alerts for 'kailas';this i opened for news of kailas-mansarovar yatra which was performed by my wife in 2005. Since then we were keeping track of that yatra.I also made a blog of her yatra which you can see at this blog- http://mykailashmansarovar yatra2005.blogspot.com. The photo of the padukas of sri dattatreya does not seem to have been annexed in your blog;it will add greatly to the blog if you add that and any other photos. I retired from forest service in 1993,and settled in Hyderabad. with warm regards RKRAO

Bhimshankar Jyotirlingam
Thank you for your letter. Rudrasamhita Sloka in its reference to Bhimashanka Jyotirlingam says, Dhaakinyaam Bhimashankaram i.e., the forest near Puna is known as Dhaakinyaam. However, there is also said to be a Bhimashankaram temple at Bhimapur Hill Near Guwahati in Assam where legend holds that a demon by name Bhima who tortured the devotees in the area, was killed by Lord Shiva as the demon tried to kill a Shiva-devotee King engaged in Shiva worship. This is similar to the story of Markandeya where Shiva emerged from a Shivalingam to punish Yama, the lord of death. The Shiva Purana and the Koti Rudra Samhia refer to Bhimashankara temple in the Kamarupa country, which is the present Assam State. However, the popular belief is that the Bhimashankara temple situated in Mount Sahyadri Hills near Puna is the Jyotirlingam temple.

Ujjaini Tour - Bhasma Harati
Thank you very much for your nice compliments. Tokens for Bhasma Harathi are issued in the offfice premises of the Devasthanam which is situated in the temple premises itself. The tokens are issued free of cost and on the previous day. You can approach the office with a letter requesting for permission to witness Bhasma Harathi and the same will be issued without any obligation. Usually the applications are received before noon and the tokens will be issued in the evening on the same day. I am sorry I could not keep the phone numbers of the office of the Devasthanam and there will not be any difficulty in obtaining the same on reaching Ujjain except perhaps in festive days. Bhasma Harathi to Lord Mahakaleswar is an event worth visiting. The other details areas mentioned in my travellogue. Thanking you.

Gujarath Tour
Except the road to DIU the other roads are excellent. The distance between Dwaraka and Somnath is about 237 km. The journey time in a car is about 6 house if you leisurely travel and visiting the Harsiddhi Matha temple on the way.
